Hey everyone
I have had an ongoing issue with Acquisition 127.1 running on my mac OSX 10.3.9 in that it locks up everything, slowing my operation right down. I have paid my subscription, dumped and reloaded all to no avail.
Has anyone else encountered this? Would be grateful for some assistance or shared experience....
cheers

Although Acquisition is a good program for Mac, paying for it is a damn shame.
That's why I suggest you try out Poisoned (http://www.zeropaid.com/poisoned/). It's free and open source and many users report it quicker that Acquisition.

Hey, when you say it "locks up your operation", are you referring to your internet connection, or the processing of the computer?
I ask because I have also been having trouble with Acquisition.
Download speeds are horrible at the moment.. 0.5kb/s. It's almost not worth it. It also takes forever to connect to network hosts, and never stays connected very long at all.
I have tried turning the firewall on and off and opening this port and that port, but nothing seems to work. I can download normally in Safari at 30kb/s plus. I have run out of ideas on how to fix it.
Any help anyone???

it just slows everything right down to the point of lockdown. I get the spinning beachball and locks the whole box and disc for a bout 2 minutes, then all actions attempted during lockdown rush through, only for the whole frustrating thing to start and lock up again. I usually have to force quit the damn thing and leave it alone.
There doesnt seem to be anyway to get some support at the Acquisition site.
have tried Posioned but it doesnt seem to show nearly as many files as Acquisitions does

That's never happened to me. Have you tried trashing the preferences?
They're in a file called org.xlife.Acquisition.plist in ~/Library/Preferences/
Other than that I'd suggest trying Acqlite.
By the by, my issue seems to have cleared itself up. Back to downloading speedily again. :icon_thum
