I have Nero Version 7.0.1.4 and there are a couple things I want fixed. First, I want the burn speed to burn at 32x - so I changed it and everytime I go to burn I've got to adjust it. Its like it always goes back to the default settings, it won't remember what I changed it to.

The other complaint is that when I reorder my music by album, song title, etc in any type of compilation - It always burns them off out of order. How the hell do I fix these annoying problems?

Many people have problems with Nero 7 and have gone back to Nero 6. I havent experienced any problems but I know other people have.

At least its better than my intro into burning. Easy CD destroyer.

Everything else about Nero 7 works great for me...it warns me about adding songs twice (those annoying .m3u files accidentally getting added to my compilation) and a few other time saving features. It just doesn't have very good "remembering" cababilities. I like it when a program saves little changes I throw at it. Nero doesn't quite do that.

If your burning mp3's, it should burn in the order added and possibly change the location of the songs within it.

i use winamp to make a playlist, then export it into nero works perfect for me.

Thanks for the advice, homie. Winamp is currently on my system not being used for anything. I have found that Foobar works better for my music listening needs.

I have created playlist files with winamp in the past and think your idea is a wonderful one. Thank you for your help, I have a habit of pausing radio broadcasts and music files in the middle of listening to them for various reasons.

Winamp will be the perfect tool for creating the playlists I so desperately need to organize Nero music without disturbing my place on my paused music.

Are you by chance using some kind of system cleaning utility like ccleaner or cyberscrub or something that may be clearing out your cookies, temp, and system settings and cache folders in between uses of nero? Some registry and cleaning programs, if not set correctly, will clear out your various program settings back to default.

Nero thend to burn the files in the order they are numerically, so I put a 1 in front of the first one, 2 in front of the secon, etc. At least that is my work around.

mfg - I do have ccleaner but I've used nero multiple times before using ccleaner and found it wasn't the culprit, neither was 1 click maintenance - a tune up utilities program that runs at 4am on my computer each morning. I am a heavy user of Nero and use it at least five times a day! So you can see why changing the settings every time would be annoying for me.

charlesmelissa - that sounds like a very long and ardous way to organize your music! making a playlist would be much easier. The only problem I could think of when making a playlist would be putting too much stuff on it...but then you could take off the extra files using delete on the nero interface.

I dunno then.

I do know that I downloaded it when it first came out and found it to be a major bloatware upgrade and the first version had a bug with nero rom where it wouldn't load right so I uninstalled it and went back to 6.6 which works just fine for me. You know what they say: The latest isn't always the greatest so stick with what works best.

mfg - its come a long way since its first release but like I said, if they fix the program to remember the settings you originally put on it, it would beat the living crap out of the old version.

There are a couple time saving features that were implemented in this version, which I've mentioned earlier - it has saved me time when burning off media.

It also appears to actually run faster, but then, I never used the first versions of Nero 7, I downloaded the latest thats out right now.

mfg - dispite what I've said to counter what you've said, your right when it comes to certain newer versions of programs, sometimes the older version is the better!

If you are using ccleaner, just to be sure, look under applications tab and make sure ahead nero burning rom is unchecked.

You know, nero was checked so I unchecked it. I'll keep you posted if this fixes the default issues.

Go to: www.filehippo.com

That's where I found my copy of Nero 6.0.0.18 I believe it is. Nero does not make that version available on their site.

It's also a good site to find older versions of other programs

Axlman - I'm sorry to sound like an idiot for asking this - but - whats so good about that version of Nero? Was it the final Nero 6 build released? If thats the case, I don't think I've ever tried it.
