Am currently attempting to make the switch to linux but wish to keep a hold of DC++ so I attempted to run it with wine. The issue is it that it won't index my files but rather just sits on the first one doing nothing which means it pretty well doesnt work. I first tried this on an earlier version of wine so I know it has nothing to do with the version. I'm currently on Debian 3.1. Any ideas how to get this to work?
would be much appreciated,

Have you asked at any Linux forums? What version of wine are you running? The latest is 0.9.8 I think.

why not use a Linux DC client?
you can even get a port of DC++
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/net/linuxdcpp
I suspect Linux may not be the operating system for you.
Have you considered buying a Mac?
however if you insist on using linux it seems http://dcgui.berlios.de/screenshots.php Valknut is one of the favored clients.
