View Full Version : Spielberg confirms ‘Indiana Jones 4’ to follow ‘Munich’

Unless some very powerful fates finally conspire to do Indiana Jones in once and for all (and he’s beat some pretty tough foes in his day), the long-awaited fourth film in the “Indiana Jones” franchise is full speed ahead for production this year (and release next year, according to series creator George Lucas).
While director Steven Spielberg remained largely silent on his work on “Indiana Jones IV” during the busy days on “War of the Worlds” and “Munich,” Spielberg finally broke the silence in a recent interview with Israel’s Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper.

“I haven’t given up making entertaining films, but over the last decade I have been making some films that express the respect I have for history,” Spielberg said.
“I am about to make ‘Indiana Jones 4,’ which is, as far as I am concerned, the sweet dessert I give those who had to chow down on the bitter herbs that I’ve used in ‘Munich.’”
I think that about says enough to set the ‘net ablaze with talk tonight!

Spielberg is a great director. Both War of the Worlds and Munich were great movies.

It's about freakin time, they started talking about Indiana Jones 4 scripts and what not years ago. I remember George Lucas saying there would be a fourth way back during the final days of Napster. Better late then never though.
Haven’t seen Munich yet but I've always enjoyed Spielberg's movies. Except for ET which sucked.

I've been meaning to watch munich. It's sitting on the xbox just haven't gotten around to watch it. I hope Harrison Ford still plays Indiana Jones and not like Vin Diesel or whoeever it was they were talking about way back when.

I hope the use Harrison Ford too. A bit of make-up, some hair dye and some computer editing and he'll be as good as new.

What it was is that George Lucas was busy with the next three star wars pictures that he didnt have time to write a screenplay and harrison ford was all for it. It was something spielberg wanted to do but was doing other movies, he may of put them on hold to do an Indiana jones movie. But it worked out for the best, Harrison ford is too old to play the part now =(

Nonsense I saw him running around and jumping through burning things and what have you in the preview for Firewall and he seems like he could still pull off Indiana Jones.

Harrison Ford has been dubbed "Hollywood Poison" by the press lately because all his movies flop. He hasn't had a blockbuster since Indy 3. I think it will be great to see an old Indy but you know damn well he will have a young side kick in this one. I'm betting on Stifler from American Pie or Ben Stiller.

I dunno, the only complaint I hear of Firewall is that the plot is kinda dry and the movie on the whole isn't that good, although Ford is good as usual. I would say after being in so many blockbusters (first 3 star wars movies dont give me that episode 123456 bullshit, indiana jones, air force one, tom clancy movies, blade runner, the fugitive, presumed innocent, frantic, witness, ) maybe he's just choosing the wrong movies nowadays. He was really funny in hollywood homicide, the movie itslef was actually surpsingly good. Fuck hollywood, "hollywood poison", stfu, they're the ones that give us kid's bop and retardo people in the O.C. and teh AIDS fuck em fksjflksdfgd.

It has been quite sometime since the last Indiana Jones movie.
Harrison Ford , he's good like Nicholas Cage, Tom Cruise, Robert De Niro, Clint Eastwood, Mel Gibson, Bruce Willis, Anthony Hopkins, Val Kilmore, Michael Douglas, Al Pacino, and others

The only way it will work is if it's set in a nursing home, Bubba Ho-Tep style.

I finished watching Firewall yesterday. The movie was ok Id give it an 7.5/10, and Ford played pretty well. The only thing I found strange about the movie was that the bank that was hacked in the movie (sorry if I ruined the plot for anyone) was using Windows xp pro.... I dont know anything about bank security but I would imagine that people arent retarded enough to use Windows in their banks.:icon_scra

You'd think that places such as banks would protect themselves better than an easily hackable Windows XP. So if you see me contribute half a million $ to zeropaid youll know where I got the money.:icon_king

harrison as indy again, huh? ok, i'll play along, as long as they don't pair him with a love interest about the same age as his socks.... oh wait, that's his real life, i forgot.... he's still with that twitchy anorexic chick, isn't he? wonder if they'll bring back connery as his dear old dad again....

I like Harrison Ford and the Indy movies were great but in his old age his acting skills have somewhat diminished. He only seems to have one expression and one tone of voice. Its like he just phones it in these days. Puts me right to sleep he does. Lets hope he never has to play a German who refuses to not talk like an American again.

I thought it sucked, it was so predictable. And thats just it, Hollywoods always whining about profits but then shell out 10 million for actors to star in shitty ass movies, I mean come on Hollywood Cops? K-19? So unbelieable to have Han Solo play a Russian submarine commander with that slavic accent, just lame. Uggh, such trash.

Bad thing is, most of America eats that shit up. Plots have to be simple, follow the same fomula, at least one name brand actor and have a happy ending every time. (just like music, more than three cords and people get confused! lol) Theres even a guide book Ive read about on how to write movie scripts and its like plug and play shite. Like I said, formulaic and thats how people want it apparently. Actors are sort of like Name brand appliances. People see a name and they assume its going to be good. I too follow certain actors but more than that, I follow directors. There are some directors that I must go see their movies in the theater every time, no question, for good or bad. I don't know what the hell my point of this post was now, oh well. I like all kinds of shitty movies no matter whos in them, they make me laugh.
The movie industry isn't really doing too bad these days as many of the movies arent made in America anymore. Theyve cut a lot of American jobs to increase their stack.

James Bond movies are getting soooo boring. Its always the same thing, a new car (ussually BMW pays them the most) a watch (ussually Rolex or Omega) some hot girls (I dont have anything against that though), a bad guy (either Russian, German, Chinese or Korean) and at the end theres always some sort of bomb or time limit.
