A Japanese rocket carrying a satellite into orbit has launched successfully, the second Japanese launch in a month.

The H-2A rocket lifted off in southern Japan carrying a 4.6-ton satellite designed to control air traffic and track
weather patterns.

Mission control at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (Jaxa) confirmed the satellite separated from the rocket.

Japan's space programme has revived after a series of failures and a series of successes by regional rival China.

The programme's ninth H2-A rocket, which forms the centrepiece of Japan's space programme, took off from the Tanegashima space centre in the southern region of Kagoshima at 1555 (0655 GMT).

Why is this newsworthy? Is this a breakthru for the japanese? Do we post every article of every satellite launch?

If they launched it using unstable hyrdrocarbons from recycled sushi flatulation, I might be inclined to read, but otherwise, this isnt S&T material.

The point is, youre flooding the S&T forum with every little bit of technical banter you see on usemycomputer etc

That Japanese satellite launch IS newsworthy Krell, since it's the first rocket launch in history that had to be pixellated. :icon_king

Couldnt they just turn on CNN for weather, and air traffic control is done by the ground and radar. As well as beacons on the planes that transmits signals back.

Why is this newsworthy? .

I was kinda wondering myself.

MTSAT-2 to be used for weather monitoring, air traffic control

TOKYO - A Japanese H-2A rocket successfully lifted off from its launch pad Saturday carrying a 4.6-ton weather and navigation satellite, officials said.

The launch of the Japanese-developed rocket from the remote southern island of Tanegashima was the ninth of an H-2A, a two-stage launch vehicle.

The liftoff was successful and no problems were immediately reported, said Toshihisa Horiguchi, a spokesman for Japan's space agency, JAXA.

Actually it is your job to post news in the news sections not flood the forums with non news items.
That maybe one of the reasons that this site loads so slow is because it is flooded with crap.
I have nothing against you personally but you do spam the boards with continuous useless new and questions that have been answered several times in the past do searches before asking.

Ah, where to begin. Firstly, do me a favor, dont click on any of my threads. Thx. Secondly, the polls I post necesitate a TIMELY regard. Who cares if people were using a Linksys router 12 months ago, I need to know what the status is currently so as to use the datum to create a port forwarding tutorial.

I fear I tread on being overly defensive, but to retire the matter keep in mind your USELESS NEWS and CRAP as you put it, are USEFUL to others. Plus whats news really? Is a guy having a pencil stuck in his penis really news? Disgusting, distressing, dizzying in fact, but news? Who's to say.

If you'd like to see other types of news then by all means dig them up and post them, that is allowed you know?

Unless I missed the memo at the last USEFUL NEWS convention, your opinion has yet to be the divine source of wisdom and inspiration in finding it.

Anyways, being that as you recognize that that IS my role, try to understand that in that capacity it is incumbent upon me to post material that appeals to ALL, not just a single or small group of individuals. If just one person enjoyed it then its goal has been successful.

To close, my only suggestion is that when you see a SOULXTC thread, please dont click the link. PLEASE.. Problem solved and I dont have to listen to the whining.

PS: It loads slow, if you'll notice, because of all those dam ads swirling around each page. A forum displays a finite amount of threads, it simply pushes the older ones onto the next page as newer ones get submitted........................THX:icon_salu

The site doesnt load slow for me, its faster than its ever been actually. As for the news, why is this a problem? People have been posting all kinds of shit for ages. I mean, Ive seen threads like "what color is your poo" and no one blinks an eye but someone posts a lot of lite news reading and now people start barking. Like soul said, skip threads you don't care about, it couldn't be more simple.

Move along now, nothing to see here.

I am stating my opinion on the matter. If this upsets you (and by your post it seems to done so) i am so sorry that you live in the world of the offended.

I was under the impression that this is a forum to express opinions. but that is only for zeropaid staf i gather by your post.

Sorry the concept of discussion escapes you but that is ok i will forgive you for that.

The site has been loading fast for quite a while, and there is no problem with someone stating their opinion, as long as it does not become a personal attack.

And thats fine, OPINIONS are always welcome, its the PERSONAL ATTACKS that are not welcome here. And it just seemed silly for you to complain bout the excessive threads when you were the one who clicked on it in the frst pace. Its all about choices.

News is mostly depressing and stuff. I turned on the news last night. 4 different events of killings happened to be reported, and the mom who cut the arms off her baby was on the news as well as now going with hearings. Its hard to find news that isnt sad or about us being sued or our servers raided. Ill post it.

It's all good, everyone likes different stuff, so have to round it out a bit and try to include as much as possible.

It sho does, name: soulxtc(lame old raver tag, but cant change now), and Im part of the "crew." it could use specific tasks behind each "crewmate" though i agree. You could try and contact Jorge but he has one inbox and its directly linked to a shredder, just ask Hunter. To get a hold of him i have to drive over to his house across the jetty.
