does anybody know how to get rid of a curupt file or program

i downloaded nero demo and now i cant get rid of it its giving me a shellmanager or files curupt error cannot remove. does anybody know how to get off my pc without wipping everything off my pc again

did you download nero 7? if you have used something like Your UNinstaller go back into it and remove registry entries ,if not ,youll have to manually open your windows program folders and remove all the entries you find after opening the task manager(ctrl,alt and delete together)and shutting down the active nero processes,good luck

Theres a program called COMPLETE uninstall.. Or you could delete the folder from your c drive alltogether and run regmechanic to clean up the registry it leaves behind.. Yet if you dont know how to get full working versions, it will be costly.

Run a thorough scandisk on your next reboot with the repair option turned on.
Then try again, if it still does not delete it is most likely being used by something.
There are file unlocking programs out there but making sure the file is not being used and using shift+delete or del from the dos prompt will usually work. Anyway, from your discription that's my 2-cents.

Sometimes when that happens to me, you have to shut off the computer, started again, and you will be able to erase any file.

this one time, at band camp, I had a bad uninstall, so I reinstalled, then did another uninstall, and it worked.

i clean nero in my registry completely and all folders ad sub-folders
and it works now
