Screenwriter Neil Gaiman's masterful allegorical drama, which melds live actors with animated characters, portrays the existence of a 15-year-old girl named Helena (Stephanie Leonidas (http://www.netflix.com/RoleDisplay?personid=30014519)) in a civilization ruled by light and darkness. When the Light Queen loses her equal hold on the kingdom, plunging it into gloomy shadows, Helena takes it upon herself to restore the universe back to its rightful balance.

Dave McKean (http://www.netflix.com/RoleDisplay?personid=30014518) directs.

Releases on DVD Feb 14, 2006

I assume the styling is like The Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly. I haven't seen it, but it sounds like something of a sleeper, so I'll be on the look out.

Thank you, oh malevolent one... :icon_thum

So, it appears more Sky Captain/Sin City- ish.

Looks like a decent mind job to create a drinking game to.

After we walked, we sat down and viewed it. I Guess they released it on valentines day since one of the characters is named valentine. Visually stunning and i like the way the add human with animation and the computer graphics. Its about circus folks =) Not really, but Jim Henson studios is very creative and this is unlike anything.
I guess you compare it to labrinth, but this is much more spectacular.

I guess Jim Henson had a daughter, she is a producer on it i believe. Its a bit slow in beginning but it gets better once she gets brought into a mystical world.

Just checked it out a couple of days ago. Slow start, but worth the wait. Definitely some good eye candy.

As did I, worth watching once

It was all too whiney for me, and the villainess wasnt menacing enough.

I like my women menacing you know.
