View Full Version : What mobile phone do you have?

Inspiration from the news thread I posted earlier. This forum was the only relevant one to my question.

Currently, I have me the Nokia 6630 which has worked well for me since Symbian is a little mature now. Next is the N70.

The camera is only ok, the million pixel shots only take up space without any quality so I leave it on the normal 640 x 480.

I love Symbian OS because of it's versatility, software possibilities, music and videos but I hate the no MP3 ringtone setting.

So what kind of phone do you have? How well does it work? Problems or suggestions welcome.

I have the Samsung T-809

The phone DOES take clear images, you have to be v e r y still due to the higher resolution. Can take photos from either side of phone with swivel lens. Proprietary combination power\headphone\usb jack, but does charge the battery while on USB. Uses T-Flash for additional storage currently up to 512mb.

Loud clear MP3 player, bright display, software that works. No known way to clear RECENT under txts tho, im working on it.

Good ergonomic feel, durable, crowd pleaser, so far im happy with it.

A Motorola E815
Good phone, great reception and decent cam/w camcorder.
MP3 playback with a Trans flash memory card.

I bought the data cable and hacked it to enable OBEX bluetooth transfers
between my phone and laptop as well as transfer items like wallpaper and ringtones
from the memory card to the phone (OBEX and the copy from transflash was diisabled on
most Bell Canada/Verizon phones with bluetooth and transflash, for "security" but really only for profit
as without these you have to buy all of that from the provider, ringtones, wallpaper ect)

I also enabled Dial up networking on it so with the bluetooth my laptop can use it as a modem anywhere.

*shrug* I have 700 minutes and unlimited evenings and weekends, if by chance I had to use it for that it would be to check email and really banal stuff. Would not run up much of anything

A little LG C200.

Camera phone (meh) and all that junk. It spends most of its time hanging in my pocket or sitting on the table at home.

I use it to make phone calls. (Though, I do have pics on it of people in my phonebook... in which they are flying me the bird for some strange reason)

I just picked up a Samsung MM-A920. So far I like it but since I've never owned a cell phone before there are a lot of things to figure out. Will be picking up a 512MB Transflash card for it later this week. I've read nothing but good reviews about it.

I was actually eyeing verizon for a second, but ended up sticking with Cingular when I finally found a no-cash upgrade for my phones....

Samsung SCH-a670

Nothin' fancy... it makes calls and receives calls, allows me to text message, and takes real low quality pictures in those times of quick desperation.

I never did understand why people spend 200$ + on a cell phone, they outdate faster than computers and they have horrible resale value. Sure you can take pictures and listen to music, but how often do you REALLY do that? I spend maybe 50$ on a phone at the most since I have a physical job and keep my phone on my belt so it gets scratched, scraped ect. I usually go with Motorola but I recently purchased a Nokia 6101 and it has been great so far. I do have a sweet plan tho, I get unlimited anytime minutes (I can call anyone in the U.S.) as long as I'm in Michigan for 50$ a month from Cellular One, so it's virtually UNLIMITED since I RARELY go out of state and make out of country calls:):)

haha I dont even use a cordless phone.

No cell service around where I live, but we're supposed to get it this summer. I expect the percentage of assholes to go up, but hopefully not by much.

Never wanted one, never carried one, never needed one.

I have a cordless phone, does that count?

Cellphones suck imho, I really get tired of people who talk on the phone when they are at the grocery store or restaurants.

Everybody bitches at me about my cell phone:

"Why do you have one if you never carry it?"

I carry it, but I only carry it when I am in a situation where my kids aren't with me, so I can be reached. Work has it's own line, so no need there.

Oh... all that, and when I go to buy ice cream for the wife...

"What flavor, dear?"

i have 2 sanyo 8100's. one for me and one for the wifus. Took me almost 4 years to get rid of my kyrocera 2135. worked just fine for me...it does what a phone should do. make calls. the wifus wanted one with a camera and it needed to be a flip style.

I have yet to take pictures on my phone....great investment...

I loved my first Nokia... it's huge by today's standards, but it was a great phone.
My second Nokia sucked. I hated when it called people randomly, especially the police. Ended up getting a new one... same model.
My fourth phone was a Motorola somethingoranother... it had a camera as an attachment.
My fifth is the same model as the one I have now, but I dropped it one day and it slid pretty far, and that pretty much killed it.

I can't believe I have my sixth freaking cell phone.

i got a cheap ass track phone. i use it only when i absolutly need it and my wife is the only one who got the number. if i am not home to get your call i don't want to talk you when i am out. people are to dependent on cell phones and rack up some big bills. i use mine only for emergencies or if i need to make a omportant call when i am not home and it only costs me 20 bucks every 2 months.
