hi..... I got a new p.c for christmas because i blew my old one up:P ....... but i have connected the hard drive from the old one to my new one, and i can not acess the files i had before ( i am guessing beacause i had a passworded account ) but will there be a way to get to them filess.??? or am i going to have to lose my massive music collection??
the error is ... : F:// documents&settings\user is not accessible
access is denied

You can right click and chose properties, and try to take ownership of those folders, just keep trying!
Also, if you boot with Knoppix of maybe even the Winternals Super PE 2004 cd, which gives you the XP choice, you can probably access and move those files to another location.
IF you used the EFS in your old OS on your folders, youre probably very screwed.
Try ownership, then try another bootable disc as prescribed.
There may also be a standalone free app that can change permission for you. Why dont you try Move on Boot? Might work.

trying to take owner is`nt working ..... but i will try the winternals super PE 2004..... will i just be able to find that on the net >??..... And how would i use that. .....Also if i am not beeing to much of a pain in the ass....do you no of any apps like that ??

Move on Boot might be able to do it but as I said, Ive never tried in this scenario.
Winternals or Knoppix is your best bet, you can easily find them on BT or other P2P.
Try to right click, and SHARE the folder . . ya never know!
Do you have Administrator privs on your PC?

Chers for the help i took to PC store they charged me a fiver to do it but i folllowed taht guide it came back with errors soo cheers any way

boot into a knoppix CD, with a fat32 partition on a spare HD, and use knoppix to copy the files to the fat32 partition.....knoppix is a live saver sometimes.....
