winamp 2.81
and the worst media player would be the free version of any Real player. Just beating out win player 7.

Can't say I'm a big winamp fan. You should try Windows Media Player 9 Beta Seres its great.

They disabled the option to: - *disable winamp agent*

@ Caitlyn Marble
Winamp Agent options ensure that you get the highest level of performance out of Winamp. Click "O">Preferences>Setup>Agent to access them.
Checking this box enables the Winamp agent, which gives you increased functionality in a number of Winamp control areas. It makes sense to keep this checked.
This option displays a Winamp icon in the system tray. This will let you run Winamp, browse bookmarks and perform other functions. Winamp Agent must be enabled for this option to work.
The installation of other software may cause the new software to take over control of Winamp file types. Checking this option ensures that Winamp keeps these file extensions. Winamp agent must be enabled.
what they dont tell you is that winamp can report back to winamp.com about your program usage

Well, there 2 different things. The agent is a mix of the tray icon an the file association keeper shit. The annon report can be unchecked in most versions. An if you don't believe it then just block Winamp from connecting to the net with ZA. As for programs.
Winamp 2.71 an below (have 2.666 somewhere funny, eh?)
WMP 6.4 - I'd never use 7 8 or 9 there all SR hogging trash IMHO.
An I'd never touch a Real player POS program.
For Ripping I use EAC .9 B or something along those lines.
For audio work I use cool edit pro 2.0
So I don't use the all in one packs - they do a lot but most of what they do isn't as good as it could be.

I use a lot of audio progs, since that´s one of the main things I do on my PC, along with P2P.
- MusicMatch Jukebox 7.2 Plus : loads and loads of features (it can do basicly everything except creating music by itself), but mainly for ripping (it can rip to the MP3Pro format).
- Quintessential Player : for playing music, duh!
- MP3DirectCut and MP3Multiplexer : to edit,split and join MP3 files.
- Nero Burning Rom : everyone knows what this one does!
- Proppelerheads´ Rebirth and Reason : to make some beats!
- AtomixMP3 : for a bit of computer DJ´in. Lots of fun!
I also have Winamp3 installed, but I don´t use it much.

"Can't say I'm a big winamp fan. You should try Windows Media Player 9 Beta Seres its great."
don't read much news do you? don't care much about performance eh?
wmp9 is a bloated, overpriced (and at free, that's pretty bad eh?) spying piece of garbage
winamp (2.x)is good for playing music
audiograbber is good for ripping cd's
dartpro is excellent for ripping records
totalrecorder is good for recording streams
real sucks for everything
wmp6.4 is good for movies (once you get all the right codecs)
i have nothing against quicktime (except their contant stream of "why not upgrade"'s)
so yeah i agree with ccs dude

WinAmp 2.x - awesome player
Real - anything and everything is complete trash (except for maybe g2).
WMP 8, 9 - Crap, system resource hogs (although I do not mind 7).
Audiograbber - System resource hog and the cause of many blue screens, didn't even rip mp3s that well either.
WinAmp 3.x - Wow what a bloated program that has a ton of bugs in it. Also the cause of many blue screens.

It grab's AVI file associations an changes the icon (obviously to the playa icon LOL)
Yes it goes full screen, but I've never been able to watch a movie without it getting snagged up on a bad or slightly fucked up frame so it locks up an repeats at which point I must hard power down. I'll stick to WMP 6.4.....
BTW it's a tad bloated....

My list o' stuff I use (or don't):
Winamp 2.x
Reason 2.0 (rarely use)
Fruityloops 3.0 (rarely use)
Exact Audio Copy (Ver ?)
WMP 8 (raper of all available resources, a real fucking hog)
Cubase 5 R4 (rarely use)
Logic Audio Platium 4.7 (rarely use)
Yeah, I need a breakout box if I ever plan on using any of my audio software...like a Delta66..
Oh yeah, and naturally NERO 5.5...
EDIT: Almost forgot: Fuck Real in their shitty-software-making asses.
