Anyone heard of this build?
Is it good?

Well Google being the best warez site around, I searched and found this...

The most important differnce between the origial version and this "Gold Reloaded version"
is that the Windows File protection has been disabled; the annoying Windows file protection
error message has been disabled.

The installation will not require activation and registration!

Also a number of other improvement are implemented.
Just sounds like a tweaked version of XP with a fancy title to me bud, might be a handy CD to have lying around though.

alright, after searching for another copy of xp I came across this and the main reason Im considering installing it is due to the fact I won't need to activate it and such. My current version had some type of crack to get past that but ends up locking me out after about a month and a half, so for the past half a year I've been re-installing over windows and such whenever this happens.
Not very smart i know, but i havent had the time due to work. I just want to know if there are ways to disable the features that come with pro since ve read its basically the same thing as Home but with more features, and Im using a home comp, so almost pointless for me to install pro except that I have nothing else to go on lol. Also would like to know if this works, obviously it should since it's being circulated but yea.

thanks

cool, thanks, in the mean time im gonna start the tedious back up process and a shit load of cd-r's.... *_* Why not use partition magic to make a small partition on your c: drive and copy everything you want saved to there. Then reinstall windows on the primary partition. A lot of faster and easier. (I hate doing long cdr/dvd backups too).

true... i could do that, although Ive never attempted it before, I was going to do it a while ago when I was experimenting with linux but I had to give up coffee and for now linux, so i never got the time to actually do anything lol. It's either that, reformat this hd of mine, or upgrade parts of mine.

It's really easy, i had to do it last week. Takes bout 20 minutes for the whole setup, and partition magic does all the work for you. If you've got time to attempt it and or need any help, just ask.

I think windows file protection is a good thing overall. Having some retarded installer break other porgrams or windows by installing old versions of DLL's is really annoying. I dislike not being able to easily delete buggy junk I don't use like outlook express but greater overall reliablilty is worht a bit of wasted diskspace.

hmm, would anyone know of a good copy of winxp home that wouldn't require activation? cuz I may go with that if this gold reloaded dosen't turn out to be any good.

i know there's a shitload of them out there, but a lot ive tried havent worked, and the one I'm currently using is a crappy crack that'll lock me out within about a week's time.

If you're going to use a pirated copy, why would you prefer home over pro?

Jau_Peacecraft
February 8th, 2006, 04:56 PM
i dunno, it probably dosen't matter, it's just pro has shit i don't exaclty need. I'd go with pro if it I can disable some of the extra crap and/or they wont get in the way. once again im probably over thinking a decision.

I personally would go with pro over home in a heart beat.

borg is pretty good. becareful when installing video drivers....I've seen the EUE XPs floating around and they are pretty stable.

Jau_Peacecraft
February 8th, 2006, 08:35 PM
yea i was reading about Borg, seems pretty good, so many extras :], although after reading the nfo for EUE, I'm starting to like EUE a bit more since alot of the extra stuff in Borg wouldn't be needed. Plus if there's problems installing video drivers for borg i might just go with eue instead, unless of course that has driver problems as well lol.

I installed Gold Realoaded and AVG on my boss's home box as it was screwed and needing a fresh install, It set up clean and for the most I can determine it is stable.

Speed is what you would expect, so I am going to keep a tab on it and update in about a week
(he leaves it on 24/7 so any shit to go down should go down quick)

Jau_Peacecraft

i'll wait then i guess, the popup that appears on logon that locks me out isnt locking me out yet, so my guess it about a week and half form now it should start doing that. :phew: for safe mode.
