I have been recently getting some problems with NOD32 2.5.13. When NOD32 runs on startup its AMON (the file system monitor- the most important part of an AV) sometimes does not load and I get the message "Unable to load file system monitor". At times AMON loads fine , and sometimes it dosent load and I get the error message. Any suggestions other than get a new AV?
I have scanned my PC with NOD32's on demand scanner so Im pretty sure I dont have something such as the 00001/00002 virus (kills AVs).

Try the good auld favourite and uninstall and reinstall.

BTW, are there any other programs (Anitvirus/Firewall/Worm Protection) that may be conflicting with it?

Hi. i been using nod32 for years now, i love the program. have you gone into amon settings to make sure the on-access is checked? if all you settings are correct, then you might have to re-install,, double check your settings

Ive also been using NOD32 for a year or so and also love it. I went into AMON's settings and changed the "scan boot sectors" to only on shutdown and so far (Ive turned my PC on 2 times since I did it) it has been working fine. Lets hope it lasts...

When was the last time you defrag. your computer?

Would defraging have anything to do with it? Actually I last defragmented a while ago maybe a month or so.

Can I suggest a change of AV's lifehacker. NOD was good for me at first but nothing but problems happen with it now.

At the moment I'm not using any active scanners, I'm just waiting for some time to try something new.

I was thinking of switching to KAV if I cant get my NOD32 fixed but Id rather get it fixed, but if not KAV will probably take over. Auggie Im just wondering, what problems were you experiencing with NOD?

Right now? None. I switched to Kaspersky. But I was using 2.51.20.

I've been using Avast for a year now and I forget it's even there.

Since I can still update my virus def. on ver. 2.12.2, so I did not upgrade to newer versions. Sometimes, if it ain't broke don't fix it!

i have heard some good things about avast antivirus ... using it myself
if you like nod so much then you could try cleaening your registry with registry mechanic after uninstallation of nod, delete entire nod folder from program files and then reinstall.

Im not that dumb, I did that every time I tried reinstalling. Avast is an ok AV its heuristics need improvement and it dosent always find everything. Compared to NOD32 or KAV its not very good.
