I don't think ANYONE who's lived through even one console release in the last 10 years thinks ANY system is "the next revolution in gaming".

No one fell for anything. It's a new system, and if one wants to play the games that are released for it, they buy it. Who got fooled here? No one. Does anyone actually think xBox360 is the be all end all video game unit? No.

The next 2 systems released will probably be incrementally, though insignificantly, more powerful than the last. In 5 or 6 years we all repeat the process.

Once again, no one got fooled into anything. People play games. People buy systems to play games. No fad here, unless you call gaming itself a fad, in which case you're also wrong.

Using k instead of c and spelling like your txt messaging on a phone makes it very hard to tell what your saying and when your making a arguement on a position like you are in this post, it is less likely to influence people.

The hardware break rates for the 360 are pretty low compared to the industry average. It is true that alot of the games look more like xbox 1.5 at the moment. But if you have been around when the current gen systems were released the same thing happened.

The PS2 took a long time for real next gen looking games to start coming out. So expect the same thing with the 360 and the PS3. Games for consoles dont get worse graphics wise over time.

Consoles arent really a money trap, its actually cheaper than building a good enough PC which can run the latest games with the best settings.

ok after a few hours ive settledown a litte lol. guys look you allhve good points and i agre wit them all honestly. but let me tellu whur im koming from. i wrok for a video game retailer in the usa and i was employed during the xbox 360 kraz and to this day i c atlest 20 fanboys comin touting this and that plunk down im not going to say hard enerned kash but sumbodys money nonthelss for what is essentialy a marketing ploy. so i must say im a little souredon the whole ordel, i mean u see that 6 days awek whu wouldnt be. i respect that fact that people play gmes im a gmer myself and am genualy sry if i offened anyone with my comments on thismatter, but in my opinion the fakts will speak for them selves,

look i agree that games get beter on the systems their on over time, thats a givin but also as i said based on hardware alone how much better kan the 360 get. their games are and will continue to be made on a soon to be dated format, with this in mind i say again how much beter kan it get while now taking this into konsideration. 2nd im not a sony pusher either but imho the cell processor or at the very least its architecture and the way it wrks in releation to video games is just awesum. and while we comparing systems here go nintendo kause that kontroler is going to be real cool. but look this topic is about whos got an xbox 360, ive made my appologies for an anger fueled remark that inhindsite really should not have been posted in this thread so if we kan all just get back to the original topik and keep smart ass comments like c is between x and v to ourselves that would be great

I agree there was alot of marketing crap with the 360, which its kind of typical. MS clearly dropped the ball with supply and distribution. It has been ridculeous,and the fanboys are idiots and seeing you work at a video game retailer your probably sick of people asking "wheres my 360" non stop since november.. I got sick of it too, thats why i gave up on trying to get one.

Ok so I own an xbox 360 and I have this to say it's a great system, it can do a lot more then the other current systems can like be used to stream video and music from your computer, watch dvds, rip music and play the songs you ripped as soundtracks to the games. I know the last xbox could do all of this also but, it's actually really easy to set up and configure. Of course no one buys a system to watch movies on and with that in consideration the games are decent. I'm playing PGR 3 right now and it's the prettiest game I've ever seen. I own all the other systems and don't really play them most ps2 games look like crap and there's not enough gamecube games that are really worth playing. I'm not a Microsoft advocate or anything I do want to get the PS3 and the revolution but, when they come out the games on the 360 are most likely going to be mind-blowing. If you look at the history of gaming the longer a system has been out the better the games are for that system.

To softmod, you would have to buy action replay, rent the game that has the exploit. 55 for a device that you can turn on and off as well as different dashboards, codec to play media files and such. Adding stuff to it constantly. Its more of a workable machine.

just got one for myself.....i mean my son lol and will be soft modded for him by christmas and a friend of mine has got lots of xbock 360games to copy and play. and i still have the old xbock with a mod chip and over 70 xbock games and about 2000 old stand up arcade games on the hard drive, lets the games begin!

I have Project Gothem Racing 3 . . . that has three modes: shopping cart slow, peel out and crash, and breathalyzer. Real joy that one is.

Maybe I should stick with DOA and just watch the giggling.
