PC users are getting help to tackle the rising tide of spyware.
Five computer security firms are collaborating on a common naming system for spyware and will co-produce tools to remove the malicious software.
The initiative hopes to remove some of the current confusion caused by anti-spyware firms managing their own labelling and removal methods.
The group said collaboration was needed as the amount of spyware in circulation was rising by 50-100% per year.

That's what they want you to think. Don't you know that they are in cahoots with the spyware makers? They all want us to help them find the best deals online while we surf and find what websites we look at to know which ads to charge the most money for, it's all a conspiracy I tell you, they're going to slowly but surely take over the Internet and eventually, they will plant spyware in our brains through our computers and they will find the best deals at real stores and find out which TV shows we watch the most so that they can adjust the charge for TV commercials accordingly, I've taken alls I can stands and I can't stands no more! (theinfamousone gets dragged away kicking and screaming nonsensical spyware ravings into the padded room with Mr Speak and Spells to calm him down.) Viruses you can mostly avoid by applying regular knowlege.. spyware less so since you can get it simply by browsing the internet. Theres also some well known companies that bundle their software with spyware.

Stop using IE pretty much solves that problem.
