I am wondering if there are any makers of portable CDR based mp3 players that support DVDR without all the extra video crapola really development costs would be quite cheap I would think to allow a dvdr containing mp3's to be played of course played in data format the expense of this additional addon would not involve video hardware or video codec liscenses but yet would allow a compettative stab at market competition with gear like the apple ipod and other hard drive players...
This player would be one hell of a breakthrough player if designed correctly and it looked pretty and topped other players by allowing long file name support.
So far burnable media is nice can be easily totated in a small clamshell like binder and is not as expensive to repair or replace if the equipment malfunctions. Something you cannot really say about the current hard drive players available on the market...
Thinking on thinking.
