two days ago my1070-b gateway that is built into my dsl modem started dissconncting for just a few seconds every 15 minutes to one hour.it would reconnect in a manner of seconds,but of course that is all it takes to ruin all my downloads.(my router brand is 2wire,forgot to mention that).so i spent about an hour yesterday with my isp(sbcyahoo),they tested my dsl line,told me it was strong,and led me through all the steps of rebooting my modem,etc.but the problem remains,and now my downloads are extrmely slow and web browsing is like being back on dial-up.i set up my router to allow all connections but that hasnt helped and my firewall still says active.what i want to do is Totally disable my router,if thats possible.ill take my chances with the hackers,im tired of my connection dissconnecting every few minutes.can anyone help or have any suggestions?my os is xp with sp2.any help would be appreciated,thanks in advance.
