Ok so I tried sending all my music to my Removable drive to make CD'S , well now Winamp won't play the damn things...I didn't even make any CD's yet. Just the process of sending the files did something. Now question is...how do I reverse it?:icon_scra

Move the music back to where they were, or tell Winamp to access the files from where they are now (the removable drive).

Something is wrong.
They should still be recognized by winamp.
It doesn't work when you doubleclick a mp3?
right click a mp3, click properties, then select open with winamp.
I have a feeling something else is wrong, but I can't really tell without actually looking at your computer....or a more detailed explanation of the steps you did.
I don't use winamp, but if you are trying to locate your files with winamp...winamp isn't going to know where the files are. If it works like wmp...I'm not sure as I use wmpclassic.

Here's what I did.
1. Inside my music folder : Selct All > File > Send to DVD-RW Drive....that's it, nothing was "removed" from the folder.
2. I then decided ahh nevermind, and cleared that DVD-RW Drive.
Went to listen to a song and it's like nothing happens...winamp will pull the file up but it doesn't play.

Try library -> remove missing files. Then library -> add media to library and select music folder.

Hmm.. if you right click on it in winamp and select View File Info., it will tell you where it's trying to access the file from.... is that where the file is located?.. maybe try that and report back?

Did you delete the library (*.m3u ?) first, then make a new one to point to new drive?
lil_amb

Yep did that...nothing :(

Are the files still there?
Have you tried reloading them as a completely new library?
When you "sent" the files to the removable drive, were they erased during the transfer? As is "relocated?

try playing them with windows media player just to make sure there is nothing wrong with the music files.
one more thing...........just use the go back option in windows to the time before everything got messed up.

Did it try converting or moving them before it burned them?
Do other media players play them?

Are they playing in different media players. Perhaps its an audio issue, soundcard or output issue.
Try switching your output plugin between waveout and directsound and see if that makes a difference.

try downloading and installing foobar2000, then you can tell if the problem is winamp or your files.
also you could try ripping a random CD and playing the new mp3 files

No, there are some versions of WinAmp. That has a bug in the search engine, which causes it not able to update the library automatically!

Uhhh no it didn't try converting them.
No to different media players, Windows Media is saying something about not being able to pplay the type of file...t' hell if I know, it all worked earlier today lol
Winamp....is PISSING me off! I have 4.85GB in that damn folder

You can uninstall, then reinstall WinAmp to create a new library for you! :)

Have you rechecked the file sizes? How many megs and such. I have a bad feeling you may be trying to play ghost files left over from when you tried to move them.

just check to see if the file type has changed, too. Make sure they are in mp3 format. If you had the file extensions showing you could have accidentally deleted a part of the name. gotta check your bases.

Send to DVD-RW Drive?... I thought you were putting them on a removable drive? Or were you putting them on a data DVD?
I'm thinking, would there still be a running process from when you tried transferring/sending them, that is not allowing the files to be read?
Have you tried many files? Drag and drop a few from the top of the list, and from the middle and bottom, do they ALL not work?
I'm stumped (even though my problem solution index isn't the largest library)

WMA? Like in........ DRM WMA?
I thought they were just plain old mp3s.
Could it be a copy protection thing?

Take the removable drive out. And then it might forgive you. Unsuperstitiously, if you want em on CDs you need a burner. Yet another technology victim.
