I'm just looking for some suggestions on cleaning my Laptop screen. I have fingerprints galore all over it (not from me) and I'd like if someone could recommend a good product for cleaning it without damage - A common household product would be preferable. Thanks :icon_tong

well i tried a wet napkin but that doesnot work too good

how about a wet napkin with a VERY small dab of dish soap follwed by a plain wet napkin followed by a dry one?

http://www.klearscreen.com/

If its good enough for expensive plasma tv's and mac displays, its good enough for my expensive desktop LCD. I wouldn't trust anything less.

One time I watched someone clean his monitor with windex and he made the anti-static coating blur, so he used more windex to try and fix that... long story short he ended up having to rub the whole anti-static coating off... was funny to watch though.

Ok a laptop screen is for all purposes an LCD screen.

Good bloody god, don't spray your laptop screen with windex....plastic + Ammonia=very bad
take a soft cloth like you would use to clean your glasses and wipe gentle.

If you push too hard you will break the pixles in your monitor.
There are also wipes you can by from most computer shops that are like handy wipes for your computer.

just remember anything with Acetone, Ammonia (read most household cleaners)
is bad

Water and a lint free micro-fibre cloth (like eye glass cloths or CD cloths) always does the trick for my LCD screen and laptop screen.

Just apply a small amount of water on one side of the cloth, wipe the screen, then wipe it dry with the other half of the cloth. If there are serious oil marks that water can't take out, mix some liquid soap (non moisturized) in the water then apply the soapy water to the cloth...

Gives you that clean look for cheap!

Use a 50/50 solution of distilled water and rubbing alcohol with a lint free cloth.

Works for me.
