Bin and Cue files are used to burn files onto a cd... The bin/cue/iso/ccd, etc. files could be compressed in .rar format. However unless the game you're downloading is something like solitare it probably wont be a single .exe file.

You need to extract the rar file to a folder and then use nero to burn the bin/cue to cd.

I am always reluctant with exe files. I hope they come from a very reliable place.

Some games are in a exe file that sets it up, but usally its on the image disc itself.. Download daemon tools and mount the image if its a bin cue.. But winrar will extract any archive, click on first one and it will have something inside that you can burn or use to install.

you need to make some sence. What are the file extensions that you downloaded right now onto your PC, and how many files.?

A good first start is knowing how to extract compressed files such as the rar variant. Go to www.download.com and search for a program called "7-Zip." This is a file management program, but its highlight is the fact that its a freebie. After you extract your files, I'm sure you can take it from there with no more then basic problem solving.

Whats the name of the game?
Lets make this simple, download the .rar file and tell us what you see... If you download the wrong file you wont die, everybody makes mistakes...

So you havent downloaded anything, but you see on limewire a game that has RAR file, a EXE file and such.. So you want to download it all to make sure you have what you need?? Its a safe bet that the game in the rar file is safer and probably the one your looking for.

Rome: Total War is a 3 cd game. If you see just one .mds and .mdf its probably just one of the three cds. Alcohol 120 is what you should use for burning .mds and .mdf files. LimeWire or whatever it is youre using dosent have a wide selection of games and there are many fakes (never download a file with the size 851.7 ) I suggest you try bitTorrent for you game needs. By the way RTW is a great game!:icon_thum

Read this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bittorrent) for more info on what bittorrent is.
1. Use Google to find some basics on bittorrent
2. Get a client such as Azureus or uTorrent (I suggest uTorrent)
3. Go to torrentspy.com and search for Rome: Total War
4. Download and open the . torrent file with uTorrent or Azureus
5. Download it
6. Seed the file when youre done downloading it (so that other people can download the file from you)
