I recently purchased a Game Cube for my son. I was just wondering how I go about playing burnt games? Do I just burn to disc and then play or do I have to modifiy the Game Cube? If so, can I do this myself or do I have to take it somewhere??:icon_sant

Firstly you need to get a modchip like the Viper or Qoob which needs some soldering to the gamecube.
Then you can either burn mini DVDs (which can have audio sync or disc read problems) or burn full size DVDs that require either the gamecube case to be fully removed in order for them to fit or you can get a mod case that can allow fullsize discs to fit.
Here are a few online shops that sell mod chips and mod cases:

I'd just like to chip in that gamecubes were never designed to read full sized DVD's so you have to tweak the laser in order for them to be read. It's hard to perfom and can often render genuine games (and or copies) unplayable.

Toad's gonna run you over with his cute lil Toad Kart.
Then Wario's gonna throw a bomb at you.

One thing to keep in mind you can't just burn the games. You need to dump them to a computer via an online game exploit. So keep that in mind as you probably won't be able to copy games you will need to download them.

Dude just go pick up an old Dreamcast. You can get... ohhh... about a billion games for it.
Modding the Gamecube just isn't worth the trouble.
.. not to mention that Donkey Kong will shoot a homing shell straight up your ass.

Anyone who has a gamecube should get mario super strikers. Has to be one of my favorite games of all time now. So much fun to play with friends.
