<p>The settlement was negotiated following legal action over controversial copy protection technology. </p><p> </p><p>The virus-like techniques used by the anti-copying system led to a lot of bad publicity for the music maker in 2005. </p><p> </p><p> <br />However, still pending are legal cases mounted by several US states over Sony BMG's anti-piracy technology.</p>

WTF is up with these judges allowing sony getting off by giving away music. What kind of bullshit is that. They should be forced to pay back owners more then the amount of the cd for damages to their computers. In no other area of the courts are people able to pay someone in intelectual property.

too bad the sony BGM guys were sentenced to life in a recording studio filled with all the bubble gum pop rock that sucks and is all made by sythensizers

You two should blame the politicians instead, the courts can only enforce the law not making the laws. The politicians needs to be reminded that they should protect the consumers not those corporations that tries to screw consumers with their deep pockets & lobbyists!
