Hi, just a quick question. I have recently discovered how to use NZB files to find movies I want. However, it is not always clear if the movie is PAL or NTSC. Sometimes the poster will include an NFO that will give this info but not always and I am not going to spend the required time trying to convert one from the other. My question, is there a way I can just dl one or two files and tell if PAL or NTSC. I have tried this but could not unrar them? Thanks for any help.

When using winrar on only a couple of .rars choose the option to save broken files. The resulting folder will either contain a video_ts folder or if it is an .img or .iso file you will have to mount it with daemon tools first in order to get to the the video_ts folder. Then use a free tool called ifoedit to open the .ifo file that is in the video_ts folder and the information you want, whether ntsc or pal, will be right there.

What you do is download BYTERATE viewer, it will tell you.. BUt download the tenth or 11, rar file, and change the rar file to a VOB extension, and play it with byte rate viewer or with DVD player software.. It should list it.. Sometimes people will post answers if you ask as well. Ask in same newsgroup if the nfo, or title doesnt say it. What you will know is that if it says TC. Its a telecine and its always pal unless shinbet converts it, shinbet is a group who does it. You can download XVID and use nero vision express to convert to DVD and use the settings to change to NTSC.. Or buy a DVD player for 40 dollars that play both format.

Thanks all, I appreciate the input and will give it a shot. As far as asking in the newsgroup I seldom actually download the headers for there are so many. I use newsbin to find the nzb file I want and open it with newsleecher. Also, I could actually rent and burn but I just like to dl and play around with the vids and dif software. There is a local video rental that has a 99 cent Monday for two nights I take advantage of often. Anyhow, thanks again for the help.
