View Full Version : DL Music from Shareaza

Since WinMX days are long gone (as this was easy for "me" to use) I have looked to other mediums for file sharing, so I have been recently using Shareaza for my music downloads.
I'm nowhere near a pro at any of this and usually sord of fly by the seat of my pants and hope for the best. For the most part its all self explanatory, but I've been having problems downloading a full file and/or downloading period, or taking days to download anything at all.
I have Verizon DSL and I believe I'm firewalled. When I connect to Shareaza I also connect to edonkey and Gnutella2.
Should these DL's be taking so long, am I doing this correct, is there something I can do to improve its performance?
Please Help!
Thanx

disable ed2k if you don't like waiting for downloads tools, settings, edonkey2000, . Then go to gnutella and enable gnutella1 and alwys connect etc. Hit apply and see if that helps your downloads. Gnutella and g2 are faster then ed2k with less cues.

Yes true, but they just don't have the content like eDonkey has. I leave them both connected as they intertwine when downloading the same files.

paint a big red "Sue me" sign on your back while waiting to connect..
Find out the ports it use , and go to portforwarding.com and change it to open it up. Make sure your antivirus is up to date.. caus youll need it.. As well as a lawyer.

It's been awhile since I've used Shareazza or anything on the Gnutella network. However, Limewire/Frostwire were both really good applications for getting music. I would suggest you checking them out if you continue to ahve issues with Shareazza, as it's interface is simple yet affective. In addition, I never had any speed problems from them.

Well, we all take risks in one form or another just about every day of our lives.
Thanks for the good advice all!!
