So when I edited a post, then pressed the Home key, it brought me to the bottom of the page. This has happened before....

Is it just me or does this happen to others as well?

I tried it on yours and it didn't do anything. Maybe just you. Can you duplicate it? What exactly are you doing?

What exactly was I doing? Editing one of my posts, I don't know which it was when I noticed that Home suddenly meant End.

I clicked the edit button, changed some stuff, clicked save, then pressed Home to get to the top of the page... and I was sent to the bottom!

OK, now I get it. I tried Home and it went to the top of the page.

Must be Minnesota.

Michigan is just as cold and doesn't end in "sota". So... you know... you got a friend here. I'll stock up on Mario Kart and veggie burgers just in case.

:icon_rabb did you remember to click your heels together three times and say "There's no place like home" when doing this?!?!

Hey DM! When you edited your post, did you press Home?

@ kleenr, I'd waste you at Mario Kart!

I did but only to test what you said. I initially single(left) clicked in the edit window and then pressed <home> and it just shit focus to inside the edit window. Then I clicked outside the edit window on page border and pressed <home> and it took me to the top of the page.

I'll try it again after I make this post and see what happens.

p.s. What's the desired behaviour or what's it supposed to do when you click it?

Edit: cursor was automatically at the top of the message field to left of the beginning of my message. cursor was positioned to the left of the "I did" on the first line and pressing <home> didn't seem to change that.

One more test to be sure.

pps. I didn't single-click anything on the above two edits.

EDITED AGAIN: same result cursor positioned at beginning of message and pressing home didn't change its position giving the appearance of nothing happening.

I'm using Internet explorer 5 something on winme...you're probably using firefox and that's just a guess.

Send you to the top of the page (after the edit).

Mine doesn't. It either sends me to the bottom or does nothing. Apparently it's a Minnesota problem (according to lotd).

ah ha! that's probably it. Firefox is so darn nifty that it probably has a setting somewhere you can tweak for how keyboard shortcuts respond...so in other words there's probably a setting you can change to make it produce the desired behaviour unless its a coding thing with the way jorge writes his scripts for zeropaid.

One way to find out is to try reproducing the event on different websites...try not to overcomplicate things.

This is after you were editing a post, and submitted the change?

EDIT: Never mind, you already answered my question.

It's easier to press Home when my hands are already at the keyboard.

It be easier to drink my soda if my keyboard had a cupholder with a straw. It be easier to read a book while i pee if my hands were free.

This is in the Feedback section for a reason, and that reason is not for you to tell me that my mouse needs balls or that hitting tab will somehow help. Try understanding the problem before telling me to hit tab. Try to understand why this is in the Feedback forum before telling me to scroll.

do you know the exact version of firefox you are using, Potato? and what happens when you hit <home> while just viewing the page without trying to edit? Does it still take you to the bottom of the page?

Feedback, as in Feedback to the people that run the place, like, "Hey this is what happens when I do this, it probably shouldn't be that way, but it is, so there ya go."

You didn't make your tab statement very clear. Maybe when you give feedback, you shouldn't start it with "Does it even matter??" because that's just not very nice nor does it sound like you're trying to help.

DM, if I press Home in any other situation it goes to the top of the page. This machine is running v1.0.6. I'm not normally on this computer (except now I am because it's winter break). This is my dad's, and he doesn't use Firefox when he's online. Actually, he's just not on the computer very often at all.
