Kazaa is my choice!

I have been debating about this. Kazaa or Kazaa lite? Well I tried Kazaa lite for a while and liked it. FOR A WEEK! Kazaa lite seems to get really boring. So what does this have to do with downloading kazaa instead of Kazaa lite? Well for one there both the same thing. (Same network and everything else) The reason I use Kazaa is becouse I can change things around with the skins. I'm weird like that. I get really bored with the old Kazaa look. Thats why everytime I download a program i must look at the screenshots. I'm not really worried about the Spyware/adware becouse I got that covered with Adaware. I think we sould stop saying Sharmen sucks becouse they are helping us on keeping file sharing alive. So don't be scared of spyware/adware its not going to bite you JUST DELETE IT!

... dude, you can't. If you delete ALL the spyware in Kazaa, it stops working (it tells you something like 'a really important part of this program is missing, please re-install').

This is why I use Kazaa Lite. It's totally spyware free.

I guess some people don't mind being exploited by Sharmen. Oh well, better them than me.

Anti Kazaa threads seem to be nothing more than anti-populist. You remember when you were at school and being "cool" was the most important thing, you would not be seen dead liking a band that was liked by everybody else, cuz that would be too mainstream. Once you get over the age of 18 you look back and laugh at how stupid you were, well the anti-kazaa comments are nothing more than this, kazaa is the "big" p2p application, thus is the uncool one to use. It kinda says a lot about the people who complain.

Jona and Joemama, yer both speakin the plain truth! Check out the Kazaalite is for leeches thread for previous recent debate about this. There are good reasons to support Sharman. And all this whining about spyware..please! If ya cant fix the cydoor there are threads in this forum that tells you how. Spyware spyware spyware..its like the mantra of some people here...

simple dimple. you want skins cause your bored and you wouldn't mind having ad-ware and spy-ware out of Kazaa as well!

Well, I had a similar problem I wanted to skin my K-Lite so I went to the official Kazaa site and learned how to get the 3 basic skins.

this is how you can have the best of 2 worlds:

1) unistall Kazaa v2

2) download and install K-Lite v2 (you can use the link in my signature "K-Lite Help Site)

3) after installing open K-Lite and type in search "Kazaa"
then you will see 3 files that are gold they should be called "Ceramic Biscuit" "Rubber Cake Shop" "Toasted Sherbert"

4) download those 3 and install them

5) open K-Lite click on "Tools" at the top, then "Options" then "Skins"

Tada, enjoy!

I hope this helps other ppl too, it sure helped ME!

P.S. downloading the normal Kazaa is NOT supporting Sharman, it's called plain stupid. As long as you are on the networks and sharing, making the ppl ticker bigger.

I usually try to stay out of the Kazaa, Kazaa Lite bashing.
But this time I will join in a little....
First off, I have never used Kazaa Lite, most people who know me already know this......
Second, the Spyware/Adware is not that difficult to remove.
and Third, you have never seen a tread out the real Kazaa causing problems, like lockups and freezes and such.
If there have been, I have never seen one.
Speedup, big deal, you can download FTA (http://speedup.tk)....the Hosts File, who cares about that, so what I see the Kazaa Homepage, that can be fixed also....bundled software, opt out....simple.

Thats my 2 cents, like it or not...I'll stay with the real one, minis what I have deleted till Kazaa pisses me off, than I'll just use iMesh more.....no problem.

One thing I wonder,Kazaa installs BDE right?Well I have used everything...ad-ware,spybot,BDE remover,ect and it just won't go completely away.I will never use Kazaa again.You say you can delete all the spyware but I can't.Could someone help?I only installed Kazaa once and I have got rid of everything else.Any opinions?

Download this file, it will get rid of it.
Some other programs are called BDE and are necessary for your computer, this program will only delete the stuff Old Kazaa installed.

i tried the b3d killer and it says it still can't get rid of one of the folders (temp).Access is denied and all that crap...I have tried restarting and runing stuff and shutting down almost all the programs on my comp and it just won't go away....

If the Killer and Ad-aware don't get rid of it....
look in msconfig for anything that has b3d or kazaa in it.
turn it off reboot and run the killer again, after that I don't know.
I used to have a doc to delete it all manually, but I don't have it anymore.

I agree with what «°¤§téålth§t®îk餰» has to say. Supporting something like KaZaA doesn't mean you have to download their crap. Supporting it is using the Fast Track Network, sharing your files, using KaZaA Lite, just saying you support it.

KaZaA Lite is for all of those people who do not know how to remove spyware, and it is in their best interest to get KaZaA Lite. Even now with the BDE optional I still do not support Sharman or trust them.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with downloading KaZaA Lite instead, it doesn't make you a leech or a bad person, it makes you someone who is aware of what KaZaA adds to your computer but is also aware of the potental of the Fast Track network. That's just my personal opinion.

so long as you share on kazaa it does not really matter whether yoy use lite or normal.
