Hi, everybody. I am writig an essay about computer issues and I was wondering what actually are cutting-edge computer related issues. Most of the ones that i could think of are already known for at least a couple of years. I ould rather write about something that is in a more kinda/sorta embrionic stage. That is a matter of future analyses and discussion.

No offence my friend, but shouldn't you be the one doing the research yourself? I think your essay should be based on facts, and even if you get a lot of replies on this thread, you'd have to verify each claim anyway...

Besides your question is rather broad... I'm sure a search on the internet will help you a lot further, a lot faster but of course, that's just my opinion.

Good luck, I mean that!

you'd have to verify this, but i read an article on hard drives that explained that scientists have found a way to manipulate a single atom in a hard drive, so that one atom could store one bit. according to this story, the max amount of data stored could be as much as 250 terrabytes per square inch. but considering how fast HDDs grow, id give it about 5 years before that becomes the limiting reality.
