View Full Version : KaZaA Anti-Hack Hack :)

I do NOT have the time (and I mean REALLY DO NOT) to do this but someone should...

Make a program that will automatically refuse transfers to KaZaA users with a participation level higher than say, 250-300.

Maybe the numbers are a bit off there but you can tell what I'm aiming at. Too many leechers are using the participation hacks and hell... I'm probably wrong, but I'm sure the participation levels the cheaters get are ridiculous, if so... should be easy to block out a fair few of them at least.

Just an idea for those pissed at bandwidth sucking leeches. ;)

but what about those who acctually do get those high P levels? im normally 400+ w/o cheats. peeps are always dlding from me. i dont think that i should be blocked for sharing my bandwidth. maybe if there were a way to tell if the person was actually cheating....

that's what i wanted to know.. the numbers involved..

and where the realistic/unrealistic divide is..

I may not be correct, but I think 1000 is the top.

so maybe not accept past 450 or so.

I am currently maxed out (1000+) from good old fashioned sharing. It took me all of one night to get that high. All i did was leave my computer on with all files shared and didnt download anything. No need for participation hack. Also method there is a program made for that kind of leech stopper idea its availbal at kazaakontrol (http://www.kazaakontrol.com) . It does not check for the number of particpation but searches each users shared folder for files. This program is still in devolpement and needs fixes, but is still a very good program!

I leave my box on 24/7, in the mornings i have had levels of 909
"supreme being"... makes me feel good...BUT... probably looks like i'm using the hack............I share.... thats how I get my levels up.... I don't believe in "cutting in line"

I tried kazaalight with the participation level deal. I watched my participation level fall even as i was sharing and having people d/ling from me. It went down to 4. I haven't used it since :P

This might be do-able....

First it checks for the level....make it 50/50 so if your at 500 an below your set.

Then have it check for files shared....if they have less then 10 files it's a tad obvious there using a cheat. Maybe if it can be done add in something that checks the shared file sizes too. Since someone could be sharing 3 or 4 big ass movies. So if your above 500 an your sharing a shitload of files or really big files your off the hook an you can DL but if your above 500 an sharing 5 25kb jpegs or some shit like that your busted LOL

Peace all, Later

Honestly, who cares what somebody's participation level is or if they're sharing at all. If you want to share your bandwidth, do so. If not, fine. But don't expect me to be respectful to stuck-up file nazis who feel that their view on P2P should be the only valid and acceptable view. Because if they don't get it from you, they'll just get it from somebody else who could care less.

For Us modem users, some of us have to cheat. Sure its wrong, I know. But you dsl/cablers don't know how much of a mad house it is for us. Those participation levels are to hard to gain on a modem. C'mon now , It took my friend 3 minutes to download 3,700 meg files next to my 210 HOURS.I only go up to about 600 participation so I can atleast download files. And Only the tru files sharers take the time to download from modem.I earn my living from rating files.

Sorry Bout the Us Modem Users Thing,
Just speaking for myself

What i said was perfectly true. Can't you handle the truth?

Some people might find it entertaining, enlightening or want to argue with me in an intelligent manner. This is obviously not you, so I was not speaking to you.

And considering most of you are bitter low bandwidth post trolls on your mommys computer who live on this board and never say anything that might be controversial or even correct most of the time...
You dont count.
I wasnt talking to you.
I could care less what you have to say if all you can do is bring on lame personal attacks and arguing with how i said what i said.
Rather than arguing with what i said in an halfway intelligent way

Put me on ignore and stop posting stupid meaningless flames at anything you don't agree with.

Some day you will learn.
But. I doubt it.
Ignore was made so i dont have to see posters like you. People whos egos would just die to see a post go by and not put their 2 worthless cents in.

:finger

man you just get more and more funny with every post. accusing others of being lame when your half-assed attempts at controversy are actually nothing short of downright pathetic. accusing others of personal attacks and flames when practically everything you post is flaming of the lamest stamp. ive gone from finding you mildly amusing to actually feeling sorry for you.

and what did you say that was actually worth an intelligent discussion? that there are selfish people on p2p networks? that people like something for nothing? If you really believe these comments show the slightest hint of insight or intelligence im afraid your grossly deluding yourself. You make me laugh. I would get more satisfaction squabbling with an 8 year old about the virtues of choc chip over vanilla ice cream than from trying to refute the "arguments" (i use this word in its loosest possible sense) you raise.

I take it you have "issues". Maybe something to do with mummy being bad to you when you were little? A need for attention which springs from the neglect and feelings of inadequacy you had as a child ? Whatever it is, it requires the attention of an expert and has no place taking up room on these forums.

and dont even try to pretend youve put me on ignore, i know for a fact that your pathetic ego wouldnt let the chance slip by to look over the responses your posts have elicited. The need for attention far outweighs any annoyance inflicted reading our replies.

now if you do that anti-hack hack thingy
then i would have to stop sharing my files

don't be stupid just leave things the way they are .. don't force people who really share to stop sharing
