Everybody keeps saying that the RIAA is going to kill and shutdown kazaa and kazaa lite. Im not the biggest fan of kazaa lite but i use and i like it. NOW, i want to know if there is a possibility of it getting shutdown? IF it does, what programs will replace it?:devil

Well yes and no,

I predict that it will eventually go down, such as all great things do, such as Hitler, hitler and the nazis were horrible horrible people, dont get me wrong, but hitler was the most powerful speaker of all history - "My History Teacher". Anyway, just as Napster did, KaZaA is the biggest of its time as of now and the Recording Industry as well as Hollywood and Microsoft are out to get it, simply because it has the most users with the most files. Of course, as Napster did, this takes time and you will be notified before it closes, it wont "instantly" shut down.

Now, the replacements:

I predict that Blubster is the next big music hit, with an additional 1000 simultaneous users per day I have found, as for movies and large software, I would have to say the old reliable: eDonkey2000 and the new Overnet.

These are all my opinions.

I think and hope when kazaa goes down everyone will use winmx I think it is a very good program and has potential to be the best. Its much easyier to cancel leechs therefore making everyone share.

They'll probably come up with a paid version (kazaa) to try to appease the RIAA before they go down in flames like napster did. All I have to say is: "Next!!!"

sharman or whoever is behind kazaa now claims kazaa network cannot be turned off. So the legal issue is a atempt to find out if that is true and shut down the business.
So if the business end is gone we will then see if the network can continue as they claim.

also a fastrack client is in the works from what I have read, that I assume is reverse engineered and soon to be available.

someone who paid attention will likely post on that.

peace!
