Hey people,
I've been askin for help for the last couple of days, but now a new problem has arisen. I've never seen this before and I have no idea how to fix it, if it even can.
Songspy, WinMX, Kazaa, Kazaa Lite, all of them....they'll connect to the server. They'll let me search for the files I want, but when I try to connect, that's all that happens. I see "connecting" for hours.
So basically it will connect to the server, but not other people, has anyone ever heard of this? It's happened over 50 times and hasn't let up.
I don't think universities and stuff do stuff like that.

Im with them. I have had the same issue where it would show connecting but no download. At those times it would also show " sharing 0 files." Thats how I knew it was on my end.
I just would shutdown down the program and would start it back up, alone, as in not trying to open 4 programs at once.
Its not whither your system can handle it or not, but rather if the programs themselves had an issue with it. I know it makes little sense, but it work (s) for me..
Hope it does for you.
PS, yes absolutely check your firewall.
Reset permissions if need be.:error

Have U checked Ur IE's setting - is there a SOCKS5-Proxy at Ur ISP's U have to use. If so, the same setting must be set to the apps Proxy-settings, where U R free to try a different Port, too.
In Kazaa 2.00 U can use port 80 as an alternative, to get files at HTTP-Protocol.
If not firewalled at all, and using XP, check these : Get opened the status of Your xDSL or Modem, therefrom to properties and check that the uppermost (Internet Connection Firewall / Protect my computer...) is NOT checked, if it is - Uncheck it. Then Under that check that "Allow other users..." is Checked (if using ICS).
At the Bottom Right corner is a button for Settings - Open it and check that IP Security (IKE) is checked and it's process is running. In Modem case Check VPN's, at all cases IMAP, msmgs and POP must be checked.
And MOST Importantos : There's an Add button, U can press it and Name Description to Your Service, Next the hosting field put Your machines Name (or IP if it's static), Then decide the external and internal port(s) for each App (most are UDP), read helps from apps or get them from settings and put here.
Now YourApp is acting as a service at XP and with correct Port it should be able to access THE USERS TOO, not only servers by HTTP...(works for me)
P.S. also try the "Firewalled at own PC - UPNP" -thing from my thread near here...
Peace & Try & Gooood Luck...
