DO NOT CHANGE THE POSITION OF YOUR XBOX 360 WHILE IT IS ON WITH A DISC IN THE DRIVE OR YOU RISK POTENTIALLY DAMAGING YOUR GAME DISC.

This is a video which shows just how easy it is ... (http://dwl.xbox-scene.com/video/Xbox-360-Scratch-Disks3.wmv) (1.5MB; WMV format)

Make sure you have sound on when playing the video just so you can hear how rough it is ...

Well the mechanics of why this happen makes sense. when you are moving your consol you are adding a minute force that throws the whole drive off balance. At the speeds that they spin its no wonder that they will rub against objects. Im sure they could design it to be less damaging but its not that big a deal. I also dont believe the discs are beyond repair.

Thats brutal. With the price of games now i would flip if my disk was beyond repair.
Yet another reason to keep my money out of billy G's pocket:P

The PS2 does it too. Exact same marks. Just not as long. Only about 1/3 of the disk, versus the entire circumference. And they are FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE to buff out.

Now where's the microwave attachment...The power supply overheats if you look at it funny... is that close enough?

Not like i deliberately posted it twice, anyway...

I'd be pissed, they charge £50-£55 for 360 games, plus those CD repair kits are expensive...

Now that IS a shame, I love nothing more than to shake my console around half way though playing a game :s

Very true. A while back I picked up a proper CD cleaner which removes a very thin layer off the CD and it takes away all the scratches, it's great.

Everything scratches CD's, even the cases.

I wish people just didnt buy the xbox360 til the PS3 came out. Prices would plumit so far as well as them have made more xboxes to ship to stores and probably finalized it where it wouldnt give anyone as much trouble as they already doing.
