LOS ANGELES (AFP) - Young heartthrob Wilmer Valderrama will reportedly star in the movie version of the US police television series "CHiPs."
According to the trade magazine Variety, Valderrama -- one of the stars of the hit television series "That 70s Show" -- will play the role of California Highway patrolman Francis "Ponch" Poncherello in the Warner Brothers movie.
The role of "Ponch" made Erik Estrada a household name when the television series aired between 1977 and 1983.

Oh god!Not another crappy movie made out of an old tv series!
They need some new material so they can stop trashing old tv shows.
I just can't stomach a poorly made movie like Starsky and Hutch again.Yeeeesh....................... this crap has to stop!

He's already played him once with Danny Masterson when Topher Grace hosted SNL. It was actually really funny but I don't think the movie will be nearly as good.

it's funny- i love that 70s show (red forman rocks!) but i'm not much for any of the projects that the cast has branched into.

Maybe in 20 years the trend will be television shows based on the plot twists of movies that were based on TV shows. For example with the Brady Bunch-Greg and Marsha's kids are in college.I'd try to think of some more but I don't watch these crappy movies.

No more remakes of anything. Either they come up with some new ideas or stop making movies. We need a petition.

Owen and Ben should of been in Dukes of Hazard, and they could of totally pulled chIPs off.. Remember anchorman when Ben stiller comes out as a spanish newscaster dearing the fight scene.
