Gamers are likely to have a hard time getting hold of the Xbox 360 when it goes on sale in the UK on Friday.

Most shops have already sold out of all their stock because so many people have pre-ordered the new Microsoft console.

The Xbox 360 sold out quickly when it was released in the US last week, with some cashing in by offering consoles on the online auction site eBay

The machine is the first of the next generation of consoles, marking the start of a new era in video games.

It is one of the most eagerly-awaited consumer electronics debut of the year and vying with Apple's iPod at the top of many people's Christmas lists.

I just love when so many threads are made about the problems people are having with their brand new expensive state of the art computers.

Yeah I agree Audggie2k... I think it is HILARIOUS that people wait outside for hours on end...finally get an xbox, take it home and the thing will not play!

Even if I was going to purchase one, there is absolutely NO WAY I would do it when it just came out! That is just begging for trouble with glitches. I usually wait 6 months to a year when prices are reasonable and the thing is pretty stable. Because by that time, most glitches have been eliminated. I am the exact same way with new operating systems for my computer....I did not get win xp pro full version until about a year after it was released! And even then I got it OEM! So I paid much less than retail.
