you cant, winmx is configured to systems with at least win98 on them. though you can try by updating your sockets. (thats the whole winsock thing) I have no idea on how to do this. Try google.

:shy What is the reason for not goin to 98se? On the old comp, a old pentium 133 with32 meg of ram, that a friend owns we have it running. As long as you dont push it, ie; with too fast downloads, and shut off screensavers, and anything else that uses resources you might have a chance. The first thing these folks neen to know is what are you running? IE processor, and ram, and then they can be more user specfic. Good luck my friend.

hmmm that is not true I used to have win95 and it worked just fine for me.... But it is probably the computer breaking down on him... I mean I got this computer in june so I had windows 95 for a long time and I think that he should wait til he can afford a new computer....

(btw thread moved to winMX forum)

Update your win95 winsock here (http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/contents/wuadmintools/s_wunetworkingtools/w95sockets2/) you will also need IE version 4 or greater, and you will have to download microsoft DUN 1.3. (off the same page)

there are people whoi have done this on win95 and it works apparently. let us know how you get on

yeah, and download ad aware and clean your comp out, if adware can take a toll on the newest computers then it'll be murder on yours. Try to keep just WinMX open and nothing else. Use the secondary connection. NEVER NEVER try the primary you have a delicate sys primary will just grind you in the ground.

I have a related question for this thread. I am trying to install Kazaa lite 1.7.2 on a Windows 95 machine, and 2/3'rds of the way through the Kazaa installation, I get an error message: "you do not have the proper rights to install this program. You must have administrator rights to install the program."

I am able to install other programs w/o this error message, so what's going on? Is it Kazaa or Windows 95? I thought that I always had administrator rights in Win 95. How do I correct Win 95 so I have admin. rights? Any other insights? Thanks in advance.
