Yeah, go find a site, that deals with this, and read the guide, that GOES with that, and learn how to do it.

or pay your little sister and she will do it.

Try third party software like TMPGEnc Xpress! I been playing with changing default settings for DivX6 High Def., because I'm too cheap to upgrade to HD DirecTV system for my recorded TV shows. A appx. 40 mins. episode, with HD & AC-3, is still under 400MB so I can still fit 10 episodes on 1 blank 4.7GB DVD disk. I'm still amazed! :icon_thum

At first I liked the new divx6 converter but as youve found out, there is no way to do any adjustments yourself. Its all aouto except for the selection of, home theater, high def, ect. It blows big time. It can make some nice conversions with some videos but others have problems and Ive had trouble with audio sync.

Use something else. I'll be trying some of the progs DJ recomended.

Nero Vision express 3.. Is the best and easiest way. It will tell you what byte rate and such. But thats if you want to put it on dvd/svcd

Ok, I looked into TMPGEnc Xpress but it said I had to pay for it. WTF? They must be mad. So I tried AutoGK and cant get around some errors (maybe I'll try and older version) nor find answers that help me out. I realy wish I could get autoGK to work, Im sure its a fine program.

Mel,

Sorry, TMPGEnc Xpress or TMPGEnc Studio are not freeware! But, you been here long enough to know how to get a copy for free to try it. ; - )
