The Russian aircraft industry has developed and will soon start producing stealth aircraft which will radically differ from existing U.S. models. The Russian version uses plasma screens to cushion and disperse radar waves, the Novye Izvestia daily reports.

The newspaper quoted Anatoly Koroteyev, the head of the Keddysh Research Center as saying that the plasma screen technology can be used on any vehicle — from automobiles to combat aircraft. However, it is most effective at high altitudes and thus is best used by the air force.

Koroteyev said that the new technology employs a different physical principle than the one currently used by existing U.S. stealth aircraft — the F-117 and B-2. Instead of reflecting the radar wave the Russian technology completely disperses it by means of a plasma screen created by a mobile plasma generator.

The generator is small and light. The device emits powerful electron beams that ionize the air around the aircraft effectively creating a plasma cloud around it.

The head of the Russian research institute said that initially the plasma generator disrupted the work of on-board electronic systems and prevented radio communication with ground control, but the problems have been solved and the system has already passed tests set by a Russian governmental commission.

Koroteyev added that the new technology can be used on any aircraft, including older models and that it is radically cheaper than the technology employed by U.S. stealth planes while being just as effective, if not more so. He said that the aircraft equipped with the Russian system will also be far superior to U.S. models in their flight and combat capabilities — as the use of the plasma screen makes it unnecessary to alter the shape of the aircraft.

The newspaper writes that similar research is being conducted in the U.S., but the Russian version is so far the only plasma screen technology in the world.

I worked on a similiar concept using two opposing charges between substrates, sandwiched to a grounding\filtering substrate as an eavesdropping shroud, electromagnetic firewall.

Yes but what does it all mean Basil?

Who would've thought? I'll put 42" Plasma TVs all over my car and go as fast as I want!

(again, sarcasm)

Strap a 50" plasma to the roof of the car and no one will see me.

LOL! Most people know that the shape of the original stealth aircraft and the materials used have a LOT to do with stealth technology and the way it deflects radar signals. . Will this new russian stuff work? Mabye.

Will it be as effective as a B2 stealth plane? I seriously Doubt it. Though it may make "normal" aircraft harder to detect.

Why wouldnt it work, its a totally differnt principle then the B2 stealth plane. If you read the article you would know that. Instead of trying to deflect the beams its more or less absorbing them, or jumbling them up. It sounds like you doupt that russians can built a better system then the americains. To add to it the americain military was looking at the same thing so if so many people are looking it to it it must be a fairly effective method, on paper anyway. I wonder if people will start equiping this to there cards to beat the radar guns.

I can track any stealth object using 4 sweeping signal generators in a large grid array running the gamut from VLF to UHF where traditional microwave radar will fail.

TAKE THAT you government bitches!!

MIT - suck my nuts

amazing how russia still has enough money to do this actually, i thought the u.s was the only ones still researching new stealth technology

It sounds to me like you are getting defensive over the russians! It also sounds like you will take any thing that is anti-american weather it is true or not. And I DID read the article so stop acting so damn self rightous! What the HELL do you have against america anyway? It seems the more I read on Zeropaid, the more I get this feeling that some people are just LOOKING for ANY excuse to put down the US. Why is it only the US and not some other country?

I never said it could not work, STOP PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH, I said I doubted that it could be as effective as a stealth plane because of the development that went into stealth technology. And just for your information, stealth technology is MUCH more than the electronis that go into it to FOOL RADAR!

If you would read about it, they made the stealth aircraft with the design it has so it has a minimal crosssection in radar.

Regular planes do NOT. True, this may help deflect the radar signals or jumble them up, but only time will tell if it is effective.

On the face of it, you both are correct.

It is true that the B-2 Stealth technology uses more than absorbing paint and substrate in order to supress radar signiture, and uses a shape to minimize cross section reflection.

It is also true that this article, the technology herein, purpotedly uses a form of energy to negate the reflective signiture of radar, which I am wholly convinced it does.

It is also true that I could track both of these crafts because there is nothing that we have that is of solid mass, that will reflect NO EMF in any range.

Theres no need for a pissing contest, lets just try to be a bit more judicious and tactful, and assume there is oftem more than one way to explain things.

- I worked on a similar concept using two opposing charges between substrates, sandwiched to a grounding\filtering substrate as an eavesdropping shroud...

So the moral of this story is: Krell can track you WHEREVER YOU ARE!
