I'm trying to download a file but under the tracker status it says
"error (too many connections - requested download is not authorized)
There are not seeds or peers but I'm guessing that's because of the error because the site I'm downloading it from says that there are seeds and peers. Thanks.

I'm taking a guess that you have XP SP2 installed which means your max incoming connections is only 4.
Use this patch here to increase the number of incoming connections, but don't go too high. I suggest 500.

Well when you launch that program I linked you too, it shows the number of current half-open connections...
Now, click C, change the limit to your choice (ignore mine, my computers a fortress) I suggest 500. and click Y.
EDIT: Oh crap I'm just after realising that the title says too "many" connections...

Wrong. SP2 limits the number of outgoing connections to the same remote port number that are in the process of being opened to 10[/i]
>How do I know hoe many incoming connections I have?
Open a command prompt and type netstat. Look for connections to the port your filesharing program is listening on.

I changed that thing to 500 and it said it was successful but that error is still there, I tried restarting the pc and checking again but it's still there.

Try a different tracker from another BT site before you muck things up.

I agree with Mel try another site before you start going around changing port connections and such on your system.
Mel is your avatar from a scene of Logans Run?
You nailed it. I just answered this in another thread too. lol
I found the first ep of the TV show not that long ago, I forgot about that. That guy from "Trapper John MD" was a Sandman. Boy, that goes wayyyyy back

Sounds overloaded as said. Either that or a private tracker giving you a (bad) status code that is for some reason being reported this way by your client.
