Keyboard Error

Hi, i have a problem with my keyboard.

When i press the @ key " comes up
When i press the hash key | comes up

Is there any way i can go about fixing this please?

what keyboard are you using?

is it usb? --> check drivers

does it work on another computer properly?

when did it start doing this?

I just did a clean install of windows now all this is happening ... it goes into the PS2 thing at the back, i dont know much about computers so im a little lost.

Plug the KB in to another PC and test it

Plug another KB in to your PC and test it

this is basic diagnostics, do this before running here to ask questions

If the KB if fuxored, just buy a new one, theyre cheap.

yeah the keyboard works fine in another PC but i got another keyboard and it has the same problem.

Your keyboard is setup as a UK keyboard. Go to control panel> regional and language options(or something like that) and change from UK to USA.

EDIT-I would get the exact directions for you but due to the sudden demise of my 2 best computers I am stuck on a 300MHZ P-2 until the mobo I ordered 8 days ago gets here.This thing is so slow it makes me crazy(er).

My settings and keyboard were set to United States, i changed it to United Kingdom and everything works corrently now ... thanks!!! :icon_thum

That did actually fix it, but when i restart the computer, everything stays as United Kingdom except the keyboard which changes back to United States.

I don't know why it would change back.There is another setting on the same page at the bottom but I don't know if it affects anything.

Set your region, language and format to US

if this doesnt work, your prob fucked

Try this.Go back to the regional and language page.Click on languages.Click on details.If the US keyboard(or whatever you don't want is showing remove it and reboot.That should do it.Let me know.
