You will need to get a file sharing application to begin with.
there are other ways but I will just be basic to begin with.

Try winmx, I think it would be a good way to begin. There are many other file sharing apps. but I think you need to begin with a straight forward basic application. For others who wish to express opinions, I steer away from gnutella at first as gnutella seems to be better once you know what your doing. And Kazaa lite may also be confusing at first.

You can find links for winmx at this forum.
click in file sharing at the top of the screen.
Once you download and install come back and we can guide you through this.

Also as was mentioned you are welcome to the musicmagnet site as we focus on music. Other will I am sure add to this thread.

ok... let me get this strait... you think that winmx is more simple than kazaa/kl? maybe you had a bad expeirience with kazaa, but id be willing to bet that most of the people here would recomend winmx as one of the more 'advanced' programs. there is just so many options. i would definately not reccomend getting winmx to begin with... youll just hate filesharing after that. once you begin to understand the basics of filesharing, then you might have a good time with winmx... but for a noob, i reccomend either kazaa lite, or blubster. kazaa lite is for basiclly every kind of file, but there isnt that rare stuff on kazaa. blubster is just for audio, but it is VERY good for music. if you need help, you can email me at [email protected] ill be willing to help you, or anyone out. im not saying im all knowing, but ill try.

I picked winmx because as a noobie , one would not have to mess with supertrick etc.
and kazaa lite is not a official application but a rip of kazaa and many noobies get leery of that.
I myself use kazaa lite and many other p2p apps, but I was trying to think like a newbie when I mentioned winmx.
I am offering help and anyone is free to do so.
I always am amazed when someone says winmx is so complex. Really? Hmm.....
It was just a stab in the dark and one must begin somewhere. I myself learned how to swim by being thrown into the deep end...I thought winmx was not a bad place to begin.

I use most of the p2p apps. I personally don't see winmx as advanced. It is just a application.

I like blubster but did not recommend it as it is beta and even though I have not had problems I have noted others mentioning problems. I figure a noobie should be spared any potential troubles.

:devil I agree that Winmx is good for a newbie as well as Kazaa Lite. If you're looking for music then Blubster is also a good place for newbies. Don't let the beta tag scare you because they always refer to blubster as a beta because it's always in development. Good luck and remember we were all new to this at one time.
