I need some help. I switched internet companies and now my ares doesn't work and neither do any of the other file sharing programs. Can anyoone tell me how to fix this problem?

I suppose I could email you, then you would reply from a hotmail account, therefore I would have your IP address, and LOOK up the freakin information, but it would be soooooo gd more convenient, if you would just press a few freakin extra keys and OFFER the info.

Some ISPs block file sharing- they complain about the traffic. Check with your ISP and see. And the suggestion of switch back is a good idea. You can always get around that block though. But we do need more info to help.

Check your ISP's web site if theres one for - 1. Firewall protection, if they do have firewall protection you'll need to open ports needed by those p2p programs. 2. Warnings on file-sharing if any.

Then report back with your info!

more then likely you installed one of their ISP programs.. Or maybe changed router configurations or added broadband with a new router. I would check to see what ports are open still in your router or windows firewall and antivirus agent.. And then configure them to give access to any file sharing program you have with the ability to assign certain ports to it.
