Hi i'm new to this and i need some help connecting to any of the file sharing programs.
First of all, i can't connect to Gnutella. i've tried to connect by downloading different programs Limewire, Edonkey 2000, Aquawire iMesh ect. I've also tried Kazaa and Kazaa light. I use a wireless connection and i have two different access points. i only can connect to one access point, which i rarely get. The other access point is available at all times but i cant connect to file sharing programs with it. I need HELP from you very knowledgable people. thanks :icon_comp

If you can not connect using any p2p program, I think you are behind a router! Go to that computer with the router that connect directly to the Internet & forward the ports needed from the router to your computer. Do a serach on zeropaid for port forwarding thread to read.
BTW, eDonkey, iMesh & Kazaa does not connect to Gnutella Network.

Where is your location, are you trying to access p2p networks from a University connection? Not being able to connect at all sounds like a bigger problem than not being connectable, which is typically associated with routers. Another problem could be that you have not allowed your clients access to the internet via XP's firewall.
These would be somethings to check and let us know some more information about your connection and setup.

I'm not behind a router because my roomate has connected to the same wireless network using Kazzaa. I tried Kazzaa, and lots of other programs, but it did'nt work on my computer. I've connected to a different wireless network and p2p programs worked on that one. But the wireless network i want to connect to does'nt work for me but it worked for my roomate's p2p programs. in order to connect to that one, i use a password to use the internet. Maybe p2p programs don't know that i have a connection, how do i let it know that i do? how do i connect the wireless network with P2P programs.

Maybe your roomate is using up all the bandwidth available too from using p2p program Kazaa, in this case tell your roomate to change the upload/download limits in the configuration settings to split the bandwidth available with you.

You are behind a router because you are on a wireless lan. I take it because you dont know of this router, that you dont have admin access to this router. Therfore you would be unable to forward ports. I would suggest doing a port scan on the gateway ip and finding open ports (unless you are on uni lan, in which case you will be caught!) You can only connect thru an open port. The trick is to find the open ones.

Ok im finally connected. Now, of course, i have one more problem. I cannot fully connect yet. I get a message from limewire that i'm not fully connected. It displays some search results but not much. It will not fully connect and it will disconnect after a while. I can download the files that it displays but I need to fully connect. Please help, thanks!
