:icon_rr: Shalom to everybody. It' s been about a week since my computer shutdown on its own and rebooted repeatedly. It started off by asking me a prompt about my Plug-N-Play, so i clicked yeah, and b4 u know it my computer was shutting on & off like someone was controlling it. What I don't know is if it is a worm or a virus. I did a lil bit of research and thought that it might the mblaster worm, but when i went to go and try to run the fix for it, it shutoff and started the same rebooting. Whatever it is, how will i be able to fix it if i keeps shutting on and off like that.

Firstly, give us a detailed list of your computers components and OS, install SP2 recently?
Also, did you install any new software or updates, open any unknown files, install new hardware?
Did you install any activeX controls in Internet Explorer or accept any scripts or .BAT files to run?

Disconnect your internet and see if its still dooing it if it isnt then its the msblaster worm. The blaster worm also has a countdown before restarting. stating some kind of rpc error. You can also boot into safe mode if you dont wanna disconnect your internet. To do this just before windows boot screen shows up hit f8 it will give you a list for boot options. Choose safe mode. You can apply the patch then.

Give it the 3 finger salute. then......................
To end the Blaster worm process
1.
Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE.
2.
Click the Task Manager button.
3.
Click the Processes tab.
4.
Click the Image Name column heading to sort the processes alphabetically by name.
5.
Look for a process named Msblast.exe. If you find it, click the name to select the process, and then click the End Process button.
6.
Close the Task Manager.

PS to solve the restarting problem so you actually have time to mess around.
Settings / Control Panel / System / Advanced / Startup and Recovery / Settings. Make sure the box is UNCHECKED where it says "Automatically Restart" under System Failure."
Let us know how you make out.

:icon_rr: I have a Sony VAIO and I ran it in safe mode just like ya'll said and ran PC Door Guard. It scanned my whole hard drive and found a virus called EXE 2 Bin. So, I went ahead and deleted it but, I don't know what to do next to stop this problem from reoccuring.
Good Look On The Feedback!

If you are running xp, and the problem comes back, disable the system restore, and scan for it again, and go through the remove process again. some of these worms hide in system restore, and come back.
