Windows Vista Build 5231 Leaks

A new build of Windows Vista has leaked, a week before the new build is expected to be released to testers.

The October CTP build released to testers will incorporate additional functions than this leak, whilst likely retaining the same build number.

Released with build 5231 are Windows Media Player Version 11 (still under the guise of Windows Media Player 10), which includes a smart new interface, and the latest Beta of Internet Explorer 7, with tabs adopting the more conventional ‘below the address bar’ style. New sound features are added with active output and input monitors, so hopefully previous sound problems have been resolved.

See the three screenshots below, thanks to Chris123NT for supplying these.

Speaking *cough* OFF the record, these builds are iso's that are used internally to test components and make changes, retest. The isos are on shares and burned to CD. While security is tight, it's not perfect. Many people try to move things off the property electronically, and are caught.

The latest Beta of Internet Explorer 7, with tabs adopting the more conventional ‘below the address bar’ style. It's good to know that the complaints about the restricted toolbars actually got through to Microsoft. I'm will try Beta 2 once released, as for now I converted back to IE6 because the rendering does seem a lot quicker.

Im slowly moving to linux for everyday stuff and p2p I don't think its that hard I mean I know people get really stuck in and learn every command line ever but its not needed for everyday stuff.

Unpacking and installing and a few networking commands and your off Im using xandros and I like it alot its got a kde interface and myn came with a entire cd of software.

anywho I really hope people will move to linux and not put up with this shit drm, But I sadly know many will.

I guess il be having a copy of this shit installed on a hd just so I can play games, hopefully Il be able to make a lite version :P

How do you think they get all those DVD rips on the net before they go into the theatres? The new software/video/what-have-you is released for beta/study purposes and then someone gets their hands on it long enough to burn it or rip it and then returns the copy before anyone gets wise. Most DVD-rips you see on the net get released to universities and visual arts schools before they go onto the shelves, and sometimes they get released before they are in theatres as well. How much easier is it to take a copy from a school or another third-party establishment? Versus sneaking into hollywood and asking the numerous guards and cameras politely if you can have a free copy? Thats basically the jist of it. Of course, you still get the dumb-asses who think they are invincable, and try it anyways. You hear about them on the news. lol

I like to swich between many different OS's because it helps to know a lot about all of them and their software these days. BUUUUUUTTTTT.... Linux is awesome and I hope to have a system just for that OS alone. The only OS I despise is Mac OS..good god I hate the interface. Not to mention, you cant modify many files without crashing the whole thing. And worse, it only runs on a MAC computer. they are way too slow for me. Whats their current top cpu speed? 2.7 - 2.9ghz? I would rather build my own Dual-Core system, overclock the 3.6ghz to like 4.2 and configure it the way I want it!

I just don't like to be tied down. lol
