I'm just wondering how many people on here are what you would call "straight edge". That's a way of life that I like to follow.

Yes and no I used to be moreso in the past. Now il have a drink now and then but rarely. Ive never smoked never done drugs so im still pretty strait edge.

A life of no drugs, booze or promiscuous sex. It's open to interpretation(such as no smoking, veganism/vegetariansism) but those 3 I just mentioned are the basics. Basically I don't do drugs, smoke, drink or have promiscuous sex. It's a way of keeping your body and mind poison free.

I am, but i find most straight edgers are condescending holier than thou twats.........kind of like the extreme born again religious types they have to 'tut' and criticize people who drink or smoke and constantly comdemn their actions.

No drugs or sex (alcohol falls under that 'drugs' category)... but like broadwayrock said, it seems like most straight edgers are condescending fucks. I knew one guy who was cool about it... til he started doing more drugs than most anyone else we knew.

I dont know which strait edge people you have all met but the ones I know arnt condessending pricks at all they keep to themselves and know its not everyone who would do it. If not very few.

For me it's a little more annoying when you go up to a gorgeous girl (or if luck is with you vice versa) and they smell of just smoke - big turn off. It's not like this for everyone but there is nothing like a gorgeous girl who has a gorgeous scent - big turn on!

all of those things to me are disgusting. you should've seen the look on my face when my girlfriend told me she got drunk the other night.

i usually don't say anything about it though. mostly because it could offend other people. the only time i'll say anything is if smoke gets in my face or something annoying like that.

actually me and a friend at work were talking about this not too long ago. she was surprised when she asked me if i was straight edge cause she said most kids/people say they are and then go out and get drunk or high every night.

There's also a line between those who say they go out and get drunk or high all the time, and those who actually do... the ones that do typically aren't the ones talking about how often they do it. They just do.

I'm a straight edger, and hopefully I'm not condescending and a complete jerk. Which I don't think I am. I don't lash out at people, or judge. But there are reasons why I don't smoke or drink or have constant casual sex.

The parents. One was an alcoholic, the other a smoker. And I don't sleep around because I don't trust people(also the parents fault). But the trust issue isn't necessarily a bad thing, it could more than likely save me from aquiring STD.

I used to smoke weed and cigarettes, and drink.

Weed made me paranoid, so I quit that 3 years ago. I eventually found smoking disgusting so I quit that and after awhile drinking just wasn't enjoyable. As for the promiscuous sex, I'd never be able to do that. Thinking with what's in your pants can be very dangerous, plus it can hurt people and/or get you in alot of trouble.
