Hi I've made a Poll about Winmx Future in winmxcommunity.com if anyone want to vote the best feature to be introduced in Winmx next release between...

please go to:

http://www.winmxcommunity.com/viewtopic.php?t=540

(It would be very nice if someone could make this post sticky)

Here go the options:

*Edonkey features(EF)

A file doesn't need to be download totally to be accesible to the rest of users.
There's an equivalent of edonkey links. (Hash easier to use)
The use of collections help people to have related files togheter.

*Extension Focused Bandwith Balance (IU)

With a good internet connection, Winmx reserves a % of bandwith and a number of uploads for these people that only want mp3s and images from you. Imagine you have these 10 uploads. With this system, 3 uploads will be reserved to people who ask you file sized less than 10 Mgs. (Mainly mp3s and images). Instead of it, they will be queued. If some time later the other 7 uploads are still active will be accesible to people asking this big files.

*Sharing folders(SF)

What about looking for files that could be related by its folder name. Once the folder found, you'll able to see its subfolders and files.

*Zip (or other archives) sharing (ZS) Although you share zips, sometimes people don't need all your files in your zip, just one. Now you've got an option to search in the zips of the people who have the Winmx version which supports this option.

*What is this song name(WITSN)

Given an mp3 with a song that you don't know its title you can share in such a way that other people can listen to it and tell you the possible name of the song or its author or whatever.

*Winmx to be a napimx clone (WNC)

Winmx downloads automatically opennap servers from Napigator.

*Winmx internal player (WIP)

You've got a mp3 player bundled in Winmx in order to listen to downloaded mp3s easily and movies too.

*More extensions please(MEP)

Which extensions should shared by default?
zip,exe,ogg,...??? A poll to know them???

*Associating folders to servers (and extensions)(FSA)

Instead of having one library, we have various libraries, which have associated a certain number of folders and some extensions.

For example mpg avi divx and so to log in into a movie-focused opennap server.

And shared "pop" folder with mp3 extension to log into a pop-music-focused opennap server.

i think maybe one of the biggest things winmx should do, is get a better gui, cuz i think that the amount of buttons shown when you start the program just confuses so many people...

my friend uses kazaa, and was mad when it redownloaded the whole file bc it needed to find more sources... so i suggested winmx.

she said : "wow, how do i search for stuff"... a majority of these features don't need to be shown right there. and a nice look would help to. i think it is just ugly...

Yes, a wizard with buttons similar to kazaa it's needed also. It should be as a new tab... the same thing as connections, chat, download, you know the big tabs I don't remember the names.

I've added it to the poll. Thanks for the idea.

Isus I totally agree, although the UI has improved through the versions of WinMX the one reason I don't use it is because of the UI.I don't think it should become to much like KaZaA though as it has to be slightly more complicated to allow all the advanced features to be shown without clutter. If KaZaA continues it will have to revamp its own interface to allow new features to be more easily shown. The problem is WinMX is it tries to do what KaZaA does and show everything, not hide anything at all. It needs to structure it features to best suit Advanced and Beginner users.
