What is the best CD burning software out? I'm not just talking about burning music CDs, but also data CDs, etc etc. I had Adaptec Easy CD Creator but I just reinstalled Windows. Plus I really don't care for the software, unless there isn't anything better, in which care I will get Easy CD Creator. Please respond! Thanks in advance!

Go to http://www.nero.com/en/index.html#download and install latest Nero Burning Rom, current ver is now 5.5.9.14, It's Free to Try, Cheap to Buy, Easy to get xxx licensed with a keygen, try
http://astalavista.box.sk for finding one. But remember - If You Use It, You Pay It (Crackin' is Illegal ;-) .
With Nero You can Burn all possible CD formats and it's extremely easu to use (and get plugins for more formats). Also writes ISO files of type Binary.....
P.S. There at Ahead's DL page You'll find latest Feurio, Langpacks, wma plugin 4 Nero, Aspi-drivers and a regisrable one month demo version of NeroMix which is a must app for recording directly from Your soundcard (e.g. Internet Radios) or CD-drive to rip to MP3Pro format which makes half smaller files than basic 128k MP3's without suffering any loss of quality....

EAC is freeware and has a builtin burner for making audio cd's. Also fireburner makes very good audio cd's and is also good for cue/bin files.
Nero general purpose is good.
Actually I feel fireburner makes better audio cd's though.
Also Blindwrite will now burn ogg files to audio cd on the fly, it is very cool.

What is EAC???
I find nero to be crap at burning anything other than audio cd's, I would use CDate for them but CDMate dont transfer cd text, which is a shame.
Blindwrite is good at copying a cd when you dont know about the quality of it etc
I find myself not using clone cd much these days and use CDMate for protected cd's as that does the job perfectly (copied all the C&C games and the linkin park cd with it)

some cds (those cheap ones of course) recorded by nero dont get recorded well. my recorder can burn cd's up to 32x but usually i can't go over 16x w/out losing them.
is that right or something is wrong? by the way, my machine doesn't help.. it's a k6-2 450Mhz, 196 ram, hd 40gb

EAC is Exact Audio Copy and it is freeware, it is considered to be the best cd ripper.
Also try fireburner to burn audio cd's it is very quick and look for it on the p2p networks.
NeroMix is another app from ahead software and it is fairly good. I prefer EAC or Fireburner for audio cd's
CD Mate is also a good app.

It.s NOT just NERO - It's for ALL Recording Apps:
My Recorder can burn up to 40x - but the point is the processor speed (and brand), motherboard's type (PC133 type is not enough for even the newest CPU's, should be 266 to 333Mhz RAM bandwith). And Hard Disks must me 7200rpm(+) UDMA 133 capable and that UDMA must be in use with Op. Sys.
I can burn up to 18x with good CDR's having AMD XP 1700+ with 512 of RAM (PC133).
The CPU should be at least 2.5Ghz(+) and the amount of RAM should be 512MB(+) to get good burning results and not loosing CDRs when burning at speeds over than 18x. Any possible background app should be terminated after a fresh reboot before starting to burn at high speeds - AND at the CDR-Box there should read "Speeds Up To 24x" or more.
I Assume these new burners with speeds up to 40x are for next gen. PC's and quality CDR's - have yo wait 1 to 2 years to get one at a reasonable price....(3-4 Ghz with 1Ghz RAM speed)
P.S. Blindwrite Beats CloneCD at Exact copys (even copies all errors in CD ;-) AND makes playable backups from (all?) Game CD's ). GEAR Pro DVD/CDRW beats NERO in most cases, it is extremely trustable. GoldenHawks CDRWIN 3.9 (the 2002 Ver.) is a must tiny app for all those p2p BIN files, CD Mate id a good general purpose app...

NERO is the best for Audio CDs because it has advanced features that i havent seen in other burninig progz. The very useful thing from Nero is that as soon as you drag your mp3z you can mark them all and right click them, then select properties and then the filters tab and there you can normalize, remove hiss, use equalizer and so forth... whcih makes very, very crispy sounding audio CDs. Often times when u d/l mp3 they are w/ different level, has some noise... Nero takes care of that as it burns. Simply THE BEST!!! If anybody knows a cd burninig software that has that -- let me know!

Yeah I heard of Alcohol 120%, made by one of the guys who used to work on CD Mate.
I have a copy somewhere but had not tried it.
I thought it was mainly for creating virtual drive for cd'roms?
So it actually is for burning cd's as well?

never need to use the virtual drive thing
1st thing I did was disable it
a friend told me about it
all I know is it works & its quick
That'll do for me

NERO...now if only it could make blind copies (errors and all) like I hear blindwrite does....I wonder if blindwrite could copy GTA3 originals (PC)...it's got some bastardizin' copy protection. I originally used NERO because it could copy PSX cds flawlessly (of course you needed a mod-chip or a gameshark to play 'em)

It must be possible to copy GTA3 seeing as Sharereactor has the CD images available for download.
Maybe a standard copy with nero, then get ahold of the gta3.exe to stop it requesting the 1st CD at startup of the game

actually, u dont even need the crack for gta3 anymore.... update it to 1.1 and it wont give you errors. but you do need the 2nd cd tho. i just use virtual cd. god i love that program. with virtual cd and winiso ive never burned a downloaded game. its cool.

Nero works best for me :) But if you have to burn PS2 games, try CDRWIN, some say it's better.
