Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl" has not only been a hit on the radio but also in cyberspace, where it's poised to become the first song to register 1 million legal downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The No Doubt singer will be recognized for that numerical milestone with a certification that will be presented to her when she performs Oct. 21 at the Hollywood Bowl, her manager said.

I wish the RIAA woudl realize that the .99 price point is fair for singles. I just don't understand them. If it wasn't .99 I'm sure 1 million downloads would be a near impossible task to complete.

Song is alright, first 5 tracks on the album were pretty good.. after that its nothing but sex pop.. It already passed the mark of illegal downloads by 80million.

it had to grow on me. the random humor in the music video was a bit of a help in making me start to like it.

I beg to differ with some of these replies. I thought the song was alright but how often does an artist release an album with the first five songs being hits and actually being decent songs. I say fair play!

She sounds like manufactured mainstream factory crap. She was muuuch better with No Doubt. Now all her songs are just shitty hooks with no meaning.

she's become more of a corporation than an artist, and a very successful one at that. "like my music? then buy my clothes, jewelry, bellybutton lint, etc"

I wish she'd become a brothel. Just once.
