Ok, so i think we need this new rep power feature where when people give out rep points, it tells you who gave them to you automatically, because some people are so snidy that when they give out good rep they ALWAYS make sure they say who they are, whenever its bad, its always anonymous.

I like rep, but I mainly use it to give people credit for a good avatar or something, in general if I like what someone's said I tell them in a thread. I personally think rep should be automatically signed with whoever posted it, the net is already anonymous enough - by making rep signed it would mean people can't flame with rep points.......

thx Hunter, I can afford to take the hits, but I show this as an example of how spammers can bias and corrupt the rep of anyone they chose. If one of our GREAT members posts, and have few rep points then it is a big hit to them. And whats the point of trying if some little over-circumcized dipshit wipes you out, why then ever try?

We have some very good new members, I already know of a few, but they can falsely get in the red just by someone abusing the system. Therefore, the system is broken, and needs to be amended.

Then you do not understand what it means and should not be allowed to give rep points. I do not give negative rep points just because I do not like what someone says, THAT is monochromatic!

If you give negative rep points solely based on whether or not you like someone or what they say, then please don't bother with it. Negative rep points are for posts that are OFFENSIVE or for spam etc. Do not use the points system to deduct rep just because it's not "your view" etc.

If you do not like what someone says about you or a post antagonizes you, then use the REPORT POST option and leave it at that.

We do not need little backstabbers running around whittling down the participation of others. The rep point system is not perfect by any means, but you are clearly an example of the problem with it.

Alright I see it now, I think I totally missunderstood the reppoint system as it seemed liek a popularity contest at first I just assumed thats what it was for.
Then I just figured it was used to let people know that you liked or didnt like a post. That way you can keep track of what kind of posts others like so you dont post the mindless drivel people hate and in turn become a better poster.

Why don't they just disable the neg rep and leave it with only the pos rep and if the post is a bad post, just report it to the mods with the "report bad post" feature, let them sort it out. It's a lot easier and they're wont be trolls all over the place messing up the true intention of the rep system!

The system would work far more smoothly if everyone had my attitude. I never give out negative reputation and give positive rep to every good post I see.
