Half-Life 2: Aftermath is the expansion pack for HL2, last year's popular and acclaimed shooter. The expansion takes place right after the events in HL2, and you and Alyx will flee from City 17, fighting against creatures who were previous blocked from enetering the city. The Citadel you assaulted in HL2 is tumbling into chaos, and this event will have catastrophic effects on the surrounding area, prompting your escape. Secondary characters Alyx and Dog will have a much more significant role in this follow-up.
You'll need the official full version of Half Life 2 to install this update.
EDIT: You don't need the full version of Half Life 2 to play Episode 1
Sounds pretty good, cant wait to get it ... they don't have an official release date yet, perhaps before Christmas? (I say unlikely)

I completed it this morning. It will take about 5-6 hours for the average gamer.
Great graphics, Well designed levels and puzzles, Enemy AI is greatly improved from HL2 and Zombines are a good addition.

I'm in the middle of it, i'm on the "Lowlife" level, so far so good, much improved from HL2, this has been better so far compared to HL2.

I'm at the point where we're about to leave the citadel, after all the core overload stuff.
It's cool, but I'll probably only play through it once. What I'm really looking forward to is the Bf2 expansion due out in a few days. One of the screen shots I saw of the rural map looked just liked my hometown.. barns and fields and all.

The stalker car freaked me out... a little. To the extent that I can freak out. I'm pretty sure I had a cool expression on my face.

Nothing really came close to Ravenholm, that was probably the best level I have seen.

I agree with that, it was a really gory and scary level

I've been playing this game since last night and its really quite good. More of the same for the most part but there are some interesting twist that come with Alyx being by your side the whole time. Its more action packed than hl2 and as for ravenholm being the scariest scenary, well theres a part in the game thats just as scary if not more so, the tunnels. Theres a real feel of closterphobia in there and its also pitch dark most of the time. Im hooked.
