The 7955 is a p4 machine. It absolutely has an AGP slot. There are some different types of agp, but not that you will need to be concerned with. eg an old AGP X 1 wouldn't run the newest cards, but yours will. Have a ball, get the best card you can, but don't go too crazy on the price, video cards drop in worth faster than most things.

Accoring to the HP specs (http://www.hp.com/cposupport/personal_computing/support_doc/bph06988.html#P22_402) it has a AGP slot. The specs say that it has a Nvidia GeForce2 MX-400 with 64 megs of video memory. IMHO you should be fine with that card it should handle all current games for a while as long as you keep the drivers up to date.

If you wanted to do a upgrade them maybe you should put some more memory in it since the specs say that it only has 256 which isnt a whole lot if you put in another 256 your system should be more responisive..

AGP slots are usually the very first slot on motherboards and they are different than PCI slots. AGP is alot faster and better than PCI for graphics card.

Is the GF4 Titanium range. Set you back a pretty packet too.

LIke i said you should be more than fine for now so id wait until the current high end cards come down in price or wait for the next gen video cards if i were in your case.
