Hello everyone... I recently started using Azureus, and I've been getting horrible dl speeds with all torrents, most of them having 40-100 seeds (didn't have any better with Bitlord either...), I set up an static IP, turned off firewalls (pretty much everything on the guide), and here's the answers to the questions in it:
If you still need to ask, please:
-> Say clearly what the problem is (Bad download speeds)
-> Say what client you are using (newest Azureus)
-> Say whether you are on SP1 or 2 (SP2)
-> The exact setup of your network/ how your computer is connected to the net (512k cable)
-> All the software you are running (no anti-spyware or antivirus)
-> What you have done so far to try and resolve the problem (SELL MY SOUL TO THE DEVIL :'( )

Thank you in advance for any help provided.

Go turn your firewall back on!

Are you using a router?

Are you at college?

What is your Azureus client version?

Ohhhh that would make too much sense . . . BT is instant, if you cant get a movie in the time it takes to make an Eggo Waffle, then something must be wrong.

1) All the guides said to turn it off... :(
2) Nope, my Motorola SB4200 thingie doesn't have router capabilities (as stated by the intarweb).
3) Nope. Home PC.
4) Azureus 2.3.0.4.

And, of course I've tried leaving them on for a while, for 1-2 full days and no shutdown, and the speed won't budge...

EDIT: Oh, and I get green lights on all downloads. -_-

f. About Health

Introduced in version 2.0.6.0, the health indicator is quite useful to understand how well a torrent is running:

So, what are NAT problems?

NAT is Network Address Translation, which means that there is something between your PC and the internet making the connection. This device can be either a firewall or a router, and it needs to be properly configured for Azureus to run.

§ For a firewall, you need to open the ports used by Azureus in TCP. By default from 2.0.6.0 on, it is only port 6881.

§ For a router, you need to forward the ports used by Azureus in TCP. By default from 2.0.6.0 on, it is only port 6881.

So to solve that kind of problem, please refer to your manual to set up your device correctly.

Check the wiki! NAT (http://azureus.aelitis.com/wiki/index.php/PortForwarding)

DO NOT turn off your firewall for anyone, for any reason, ever. Manage it.

Do you have anything acting as a firewall besides the ICF ?

Who is your ISP?

if all u said is true

then i think u may be limited by ure isp

which is achived one of two ways

1. the port u are using is being restricted. in which case change ure port number (and reconfigure ure firewall)

2. ure isp may just limit ure bandwidth outright (tiscalli in the uk has started doing this coz of bandwidth hogs) in which case ure buggered unless u want to change isp.

there could be another reason that i cant think of, so dont give up yet. the guys on here are great.

Have you checked your event viewer for a EventID 4226: TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent TCP connect attempts error? (start, run, eventvwr.msc)

My guess is thats the problem and you need the patch. Go here...http://www.lvllord.de/?lang=en&url=downloads

Azureus has been working fine for a while now, I have even got speed exceting 100 kbs, staticly, but something happend, I started Azureus and I was geting a rate from 30 to 50 kbs, then all of a sudden, randomly a patern occured at first it was a |''|_|''|_|''|_ and then it seems unable to excede 12 kbs no matter what by upload rate is, 20 kbs has gotten 100 kbs +. My upload rate is up and down too./\/\/\/\/\/\/\
